Your banker, your lawyer, your politician, your astronomer and your astrologer would all disagree. The rule says "7 days"....7 sequential linear days is implied. But seven sunrises is not the same as 168.1 hours.
The issue is not with enforcement, but with linguistic precision.

Holy SHIZ man, I hope you guys are all joking! but, I suspect you are not......get a life! go outside and dig a hole or something. If not for rules, and someone enforcing the rules, some guys would update every 10 seconds.

Its principle, not principal. The later refers to your high school principal. The former refers to an accepted or professed rule of action or conduct. Such as the point you were making in your post.
On another note. I don't see why anyone should receive an infraction for the use of any language. The word(s) being used are only words. Its the context that adds weight to their use. In any case we're adults living in the big world. If you're offended by someones opinion and their choice in language. Good! Its your right to be offended and that's all. What some feel is inappropriate language is a PERSONAL preference. You don't like the language, block the poster or don't read the thread. That is the freedom you have in this country. Short of promoting violence against a specific individual/group/demographic I could really care less what people say.
You want to tell me I'm fat, stupid and like to sleep with other men. Fine, its your opinion. I won't hesitate to return the favor but I'm certainly not going to cry and whine like a 5 year old because you "offended" me. Grow some thicker skin.
The belief that "swearing" or "swear words" are not "polite" is crap. The term "polite" is simply a set of rules set out by others for you to govern yourself by when in their company. Its called censorship. The constant use of what are traditionally known as "swear words" does nothing but illustrate a persons lack of vocabulary.

I am being somewhat light hearted, but when you realize that eastern posters in the -3 GMT timezones could get infractions for BTT'ing an item after 168 hours of THEIR time had passed (but not 168 hours of system time) it gets to be a bit of a paper crime. Much the same as Bill C68 created.
The irony should not be lost.

Truthfully, who cares.....it's not like it goes on your permanent life record or prevents you from getting employment or crossing international borders and they even take it off here for good behaviour. You broke the rules, got your hand slapped so get over it and don't do it again....sheesh!
i also recieved an infraction for this as well, and have not heard back from him either. same thing a not past the exact time, i looked at the date and it was 7 days so i btt it, and WHAM! a 3 pointer too!
In response to this, i'm not here all of the time, I have a life and there are other things to do. You think that we have to be here all of the time just for you.

Heck, I had had a few myself over the years.
What really gets me is how some of the pricks on here can be so flippin rude to people and not get dinged "when it clearly states in the rules "NO personal insults", but an honest mistake goes punished.

Very interesting discussion but I find it odd that Canadian Customs would have accepted these times as satisfying the 7 day requirement for being out of the Country.
It would also be interesting to see what a court of law would have to say about this situation. The requirement here is in terms of days and not hours or seconds.
For those with a legal background will appreciate that in case like this, you either have 6 days or 7 days and the BTT was performed on the 7th day thus satisfying the 7 day requirement.
Just my humble opinion and not something to lose sleep over.

It is posted as seven days. If you are judging this by the calendar then mcpj did wait the required seven days.If it is going to be measured in hours & minutes to the exact time & date, then this should be stipulated in the exchange forum rules.

There was a case of a couple girls at the Canada customs border crossing in Manitoba Who when asked said they had been out of the country for an alloted time (24hrs? 48hrs? 7days?) were off by a couple hours and the amount of grief they got made front page news.
