Info on 2009 IPSC Nationals

2 Live lobsters made it back to Vancouver for monday night dinner :) Enjoyed the shooting match, and seeing everyone.

The only hiccup was getting paged at the gate between flights out of Montreal, and escorted to security...Where they asked if there was a firearm in my suitcase, to which I replied, "no there are 2 firearms in my suitecase which were declared in Halifax, What's the problem? :)" They seemed more happy to have noticed the firearms on the scanner than anything, I was out of the office 5 minutes later...
 
Note, don't try to take your left over chrono ammo on a plane in your carry one. no idea how I missed that, for some reason they were in my shooting glasses case.
Massive thanks to everyone involved with the match it was a ton of fun. Thanks to everyone who coughed up the money on Saturday. Still a big thanks to Carmine, even if he thinks I'm the Antichrist now.
Jim, thanks for the room, hope the new appliances all work good, you have a lovely house.
For those of you who know Rob Robley (spelling) M-Bomber and I met up with him for drinks Monday night before he deployed, a more insane night I couldn't make up. Far too much happened to type here but trust me, get me or MBomber to talk about it, and you'll be entertained for hours. We certainly were, though I still wish they'd looked at the camera before they left bar. god that would have been funny.

but yes it was another episode of the RR show. Howie Mandel, Robin Williams, and a house fly along with multiple personalities all rolled into one. Yee Haw. "I'm on a boat!"

OMG...You built this thing as part of the match? I thought it was a permanent fixture of the club.

what is great is that the work put in by the NS folks will last many summers of shooting. Next weekend the NS provincials is at this range. Yeehaw
 
It was built for the match, but will be remaining as a permanant fixture to the range.

As the rifle director of the club, I'm rather excited at the various upgrades we've seen for the club.

Actually, the three covered firing points on ranges 2,3 and 4 were built by the host club - AMA.

AMA's deadline was to have them completed before the match so our guests would be dry and out of the sun.

The Match committee didn't build them, although - Jim - in his role as AMA's Outdoor range coordinator did oversee the guys we hired to do it. The funding for them came entirely out of the club's kitty, not the match, but it's neat to see them going up at the same time as the stages. :)

Note the miserable weather...:(

Was built in it's entirety by my father, Fred. He dreamed it up in January and spent about a month making the tombstones in his garage. He even had pre-painted patches for the tombstones ready should a round go through one.
