Interac EMT's now flagging firearms sales.

We decided to decline all of the pending EMTS to get the money back to the customers and try to re-do the EMTS to a new account. One of our customers was just told by his bank that the funds are on hold until next week. They would not even let him deposit them back!

Just when we thought everything was going smooth, interac has decided to flag email addresses that contains the word firearms, and will not allow payments to process. This not only includes email addresses with the name in it, but also the email address on your banks profile that the confirmations get sent back to.

Just a page from the American SJW playbook actually, some banks down south have been hindering the business of gun shops forcing the owners to find other smaller/regional banks.

SHTF likely when MasterCard and Visa stop permitting their system to be part of a firearms sale.

Which bank?

Yes, is it a particular Bank using EMT that is doing this or the entire EMT system.... ??

- .....as I try and figure out what "retailers" I have paid with EMT - These may be affected based on their emails:

Budget Shooter Supply
Wasp Munitions
Northern Republic Magazine (if they filter that finely.....)

This sucks. I'd like to see email or responses from banks regarding this.

Again going after law abiding firearm owners by utizing the battleship attacking method. The government will drain the water from around the structure and slowly grind it to a halt instead of attacking head on. This way the Liberals and their voters will avoid any direct blame for the eventual killing of the shooting sports.

are you positive that is the reasoning? sounds more likely something else is up, like something else was flagged. I can't see the email address containing any word firearm related being the actual root of the issue.

This was first noticed when someone was sending a deposit for a puppy that we were selling. Their EMT would not deposit. The reason was that the confirmation email for EMTs deposited into my personal bank account gets sent to my store email. That is how far they have taken it.

so what kind of message (wording) did you receive when you attempted to accept the EMT? I am more inclined to suspect a hold was placed on EMT funds at the branch level, perhaps related to the senders account status/suspected source of funds (kiting perhaps?)

Very disturbing to hear.
Not sure how relevant this is in Canada, but under Obama the US Dept of Justice and US banking regulators made a list of illegal businesses like sports gambling bookies, money laundering fronts and escort services -- and cracked down on banks that held accounts for them. Problem was the list included legitimate businesses that were arbitrarily deemed "high risk", whatever that means, including some firearms businesses.

Like I said, not sure how relevant that is, but here's a better summary:

So far 3 transactions that we know of ware they flagged them for because our email had firearms in it, and are holding the fund we tried to cancel. Interac is the one that flagged them and a bank is holding funds for 2 of the transactions.

In these 3 cases the people were told by their bank the reason for investigation. None of the orders we even firearms.

As I said before, one of the transactions was a deposit on a puppy for my personal bank account, but because it was to an account that had firearms in the email (and the auto reply email once accepted, not the initial email), that is all it took. The affected peoples banks confirmed that this was the reason.
