2 years ago at the nationals I competed.
In Production my ICS Classification is World-C and Canada- B and Provincially-B
A past National Champions ICS is World -B Canada -B and Provincially- GM
I am nowhere near being in the same class as him (except, it seems, in the ICS regional classification)
He won first B(which he declined) and second or third overall,I may have actually won a C class prize had we been classified to our actual abilities. Me being a C and him being at least an M (Regionally) . As HB has said the system does not work fairly.
If I compete Provincially I get a Provincial classification. I have competed in 5 National matches. Why do I not have a classification based on my performance at those matches. If we are using ICS and I am a C, why am I also a B.
As a match director , I have put classifiers in matches and had classifier matches. When ever a competitor has a bad run they almost always ask to not submit their score, most likely for the reasons that HB pointed out.
In my opinion the ICS system we are using is flawed and is not being used, therefore pointless. A true classification is based on match performance when under pressure, not in Sunday practice.

Just my 2 cents.
