Introducing C79A2's

Recieved mine in the mail Friday. Forcast looks great for this weekend hope to try it out. Havn't even fired the rifle yet either.

That looks sweet. Now we just need Colt Canada to release the green furniture and a lot of rifles out there will be complete!
Have fun thus weekend!!!

Some of you have emailed looking for operating instructions for the C79A2. I just received these from Armament Technology. Sorry for the wait!

Hi, sorry for the bump, but seeing as how these are still in stock, guess it couldn't hurt? I was wondering what the best way was to remove the black cover and replace it with the green one? I've heard boiling the replacement cover to get it pliable enough to stretch it on, but how do I get the black one off without tearing?

Thanks!

Guess it depends on how old it is and how pliable it is.
I've only ever used an automotive silicone spray on them to remove and replace them. Never really had a problem using that product.
I have used it on new covers as well as old covers with out issue, but of course, you need to be careful and slowly remove them.

I also remove the tube from the mount for the job.

Good luck

Thanks! will post pics if I successfully manage it :)

Installed the new cover today, looks pretty good and really wasn't that hard, no soap, no boiling, no probs, just had to give 'er.

Any idea if these will be back in stock?

We are waiting on Armament to get the mounts back in stock. They have the tubes, ARD's and green covers, its just the mounts
that are on back order. The C79 Tubes, CF Mounts and Civi mounts (without the CF C79 A2 engraving) are made by Elcan in Midland Ontario.

They ship them to Armament in Halifax where they are assembled and calibrated as the orders come in. Sadly the civi mounts have taken a
back seat to to production of the SpecterTR 1-3-9. I have 12 C79's on order and fingers crossed I will see them late next month.

Too bad they wont give us the engraved mounts which they have sitting on the shelf :)

I wonder if Things Engraved can do a decent job in engraving C79A2 on them?
