IPSC @ Barrie and No Provincials (Followup)

...care to point me to the post where I stated that?

I agree that any member should have full access to the BOD and ask what ever questions they please...I just don't agree that another GuNutz #####ing session is the correct way to do that.

What's wrong with contacting the board directly?

Your Opinion seams to be the Board can do no wrong and No one can or should ask any questions because they are the ones doing it and they have the right.

Where is the Ontario IPSC member's forum on the IPSC Ontario web site ??

Where is the Ontario IPSC member's forum on the IPSC Ontario web site ??
In progress.
Why is it that the BOD does not send out email to all members with some explanation what happened .

Aside from the fact not, all or even most, IPSC members knew anything about it, from what I understand, less than 40% of IPSC members have an Email address listed.

I want normality, I want to be able to shake a hand with my BOD people, but also I want to know what is going on.
Why we don't have some sort of tool to communicate situation faster and better to the members. I know at least one person who would like to help with upgrading the website and run a forum, but I guess he is not 'kosher' enough :)

Send an email to Rachel with the offer or let your club rep know and they can forward it on.

You did not say so directly, My words were that your opinion "seems to be" this is simply my take on it from you seem to attack people who question the board. I do not know you, I see you used to be on the board so I can totally understand your stance when you may feel it is the board under attack.

I also agree it should not be a #####-fest from the same old people who want to just dredge up the same old crap. But if a question is raised it should be answered, once the IPSC-Ont forum is up it should be much better. For now this is the only way for someone to get there voice out. Hell one thing IPSC does NOT do well is sell itself. I only just learned of GV.

I too wish for normality, what ever the hell that is:confused:

I think that it is a huge mistake of the BOD to think that this issue is all cleared up. The fact that 5 BOD all in agreement felt that they had the percieved power to remove at wim members of IPSC Ontario because they didn't like what was being said to them scares the hell out of me. Who will be next since no measures have been put in place to prevent future actions of this sort.I believe the board would not have revoked their decision if it had not been for the shooter outrage on this forum. There is one long serving member of the board that should have known better, but maybe there lies the root of the problem. The constitution of IPSC Ontario did not support the removal of members, but does clearly support the removal of BOD members. I think it is time for the 1100+ membership to exercise that right.

the answer is pretty simple.. if IPSC Ontario wants to incorporate then they need a constitution.. and the current one is in question as to if the IPSC members have originally voted for it or not.

Ask the board to provide PROOF that the current constitution is valid (ask for minutes of the meeting where the members voted on it). .if they can't, then you can rightly challenge it.

Plus if they make changes to the "current" one, then they need to go to the members to vote on it.. every member has the right to object to the changes and point out that fact that there a no clauses to protect the members from exactly what just happened. If enough members DEMAND those clauses get put in, then they must be put up for voting by all members..

The key here is to get the requested changes in NOW before its too late and the board already has the agreed to proposed changes.(They agree to them first before proposing the changes to all the members.) You can't just spring a new clause at the meeting to vote for it.

12. Any director may be removed by 2/3 of the votes of the members at a members meeting called for that purpose.

I think where I am going with this is quite clear

yeah.. rather then protect members from having this done again, you want to punish the board for pulling a dumb move..

It will not prevent it from happening in the future unless the constitution is changed.

short term gratification but no long term fix.

(I'm note defending the BOD in any way but I Think this is better solved by having a proper constitution)

There is no current constitution unless you go back to the one that existed in 1994. The so called 1996 constitution was never voted on by the BOD, let alone the membership.

The President of IPSC Ont. is using her lawyer to Incorporate IPSC ONT and do the Constitution.

Ask the Board if you have questions.

That is the problem here. We (ME INCLUDED) complain here on this board but how many of us call or write an e mail to the BOD to get answers?

You want more?

A classification system was put in place, they decided to fix the web site and some of the BOD got new jobs.

Funny enough though we talked about how we as IPSC members could have better lines of communications.
I guess untill that is fixed, this forum will have to do.

Maybe you should get your facts straight.............all 5 BOD members were NOT involved in this.

I know this forum is not the way to communicate but so far I have not seen any response from the BOD ,lets say by email or snail mail ,:D

Actually my facts are fine. The Section Coordinator told me it was a board decision and the board was standing together on "their" decision. If a board member was not on board with the decision they could have come foreward at the Club Rep meeting and stated their view but chose not too.
