IPSC Canada Nationals - Quebec

You seem to like to tell people what to do... Well, once you do a fraction of work I've been doing for IPSC and other shooting sports for almost a decade, I may consider your voice. But even then I'm entitled to express my opinion where I like.

I not the one telling people what they should do. That’s you. You are entitled to your opinion. Just remember opinions are like A$$’s just because you have one does not mean anybody wants to hear or see it.

I know it's hard for you to admit, but given you can't stop it, we all know you do want to hear what I have to say. And deep down there you do know that I'm right and that's what frustrates you the most. And of course also you envy all of us who did shot the Nationals regardless of all the issues. Well, maybe next year you can do it

The negativity and counter-productive criticism of some people... Very... lets say "laxative" at best.

Personally I had a ball.
Great stages, decent level of difficulties, gorgeous scenery (what a backstop!). I was particularly pleased by the enthusiasm and kindness displayed by the staff and all shooters. By any standards, it was great match. For a first Nat'l ever in QC, my heartfelt congratulations to the organizing team and staff.

Pic & vids: Looking forward to look at the results of Mark's efforts. Thank's in advance Mark!

Speaking of stages. They were very very Quebec-ish and very laterral. I do know why , though for the National championship I was hoping for more advanced movement. I was there for competition and scenery I can get on any hiking trip. But maybe we got spoiled here in Ontario

How did everyone like shooting at the military base, instead of a normal range?

Is it better, worse, or just the same?

Other than the scenery it was worse. Due to there not being any berms it really limited the stage designs. It was mostly speed shoots and limited forward movement.

Also having to take a 30 minute school bus ride on a bumpy dirt road to get to the ranges wasn't pleasant.

You might not say that after you finish shooting the match. I've been taking notes from my buddy Eric on how to make it an ultimate challenge.

I've shot Baltic Storm multiple times, including doing it twice one year (second run was for no score), so 80 stages in 4 days, 20 stages a day in 5hrs a day. I say bring it dude and I'll love it!!!!

Lots of things could have been better.

This was the 1st Nationals in Quebec so just keep that in mind.

Having said that, I don't plan on shooting another Nationals hosted by QC @ CFB Val Cartier.
Just like I will never work or shoot a match in Jamaica

July 2018 PanAM Hangun Championship in Jamaica.
CROs arrived... to find out they had to build stages... no tools... hence R1Rich comment above.

And flying in & out of Jamaica with guns was at best... quite an experience.

and this thread is derailing...

BTW, cleaning my truck after the Valcartier build, match & teardown gave me about a bucket full of dust. Thinking of listing it in EE as match souvenir, say 1 lb bags. Wonder how much I'll fetch per lb?
