IPSC Handgun

Question is...
“Did the gun (product) win for the shooter, or did the shooter win for the gun?”

Beretta 92FS, able to run it fast and accurate:
DA trigger, safety controls add more stuff to consider during a match. Very comfortable gun to shoot.

Glock17-Gen4, able to run it fast and accurate:
SA trigger, simple safety operation, so just load and go in match. The grip angle isn't for everyone and may take time to get used to it.

ATM i use Glock17 / Beretta for IPSC, great pistols.

As for CZ etc., have no issue with it, personally like shooting the Glock / Beretta… and spouse likes my…Glock

I think for most shooters, it would be the law of diminishing returns. Past a certain point, the quality of gun will make less and less of a difference. Good technique and lots of practice will have the most impact on improvement for most levels of shooters. I remember from my golfing days, a set of lessons made the most improvement over hours at the driving range and the newest hi-tech golf clubs. I used to take a lesson at the beginning of each season to correct any problems with my form that crept in during the prior season.

mea culpa - that still doesn't keep me from tinkering with my guns and lusting after the latest and greatest lol

The beauty of Glocks is that they work properly every time, and that's important. Feeds any ammo, doesn't matter if you clean it properly, and you can get parts for it if you ever wear it out. Other guns may shoot better or worse, but you're not going to be tring win any matches this year. Get a trouble-free pistol, the cheapest ammo you can find, and practice until you have calluses.

Generally I'd agree with you.....but 'feeds any ammo'...not quite...mine hates Barnaul...apparently they're hard primers..

Glocks also don't have the benefit that da\sa guns have, and that's a single action trigger after the first shot.
