IPSC Nationals

I am getting into TO on saturday/29. We (wife and I) plan on doing some visiting and sight seeing until the match. I was wondering if I am going to have any problems with the short term att.

is your temp ATT covering you for your whole trip? if not, get it fixed.

From my quick look at the match, a bunch of the stages looked the same, the last one and stage 3 I think is just one example???? or was I missing something in my quick look?

I'm proud of my CGN T-shirt, but I'm not wearing it at a match in Aug. weather. Not till sundown anyways
The stages look good, but it's hard to tell elevation & proper position, so
hard to determine shooting plan.
# 3 & 17 are the same, except #17 has some dotted markings on the floor that maybe suggestive of a opening or something different ?

Can't wait to start blast'n :D

Hey Everybody,

Glad to inform everybody that I am now an official match sponsor and will be teaching advanced ipsc classes on Friday and Saturday, giving both Standard and Open shooters an opportunity to attend. So, it doesn't matter what days you are shooting, just let me know in advance and we'll inform the match organizers.

This will be a lot more practical for everybody, come to the match, get to meet me and then attend a class either Friday or Saturday. We have a class room available to us and a separate range. You should bring about 300 rounds.

In the class I will spend a lot of time passing on the mindset that the top competitors for the most part share. To some extent it'll be an advanced abstract class with probably, for most people, a different view on how to break down and approach stages. I'll go into techniques on how to shave off time, which requires a sharp mind on your part. The goal is to give you mental tools to continually teach yourself to improve. Expect to spend several hours in the class room and then we'll go out on the range and start shaving those seconds off. I will give everyone individual attention and you'll go home or maybe even compete the next day with some fresh ideas.

Price of the class is CDN 150 and paid at the range. I have will directions and info about where to meet when you register at the Nationals.

Looking forward to seeing you in my class. Contact me by sending a private message or email:

Good to know,

when will the match begin? Tuesday or Wednesday ? The match copy says August 1st - 4th? I thought it was Wesdnesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with Shootoff Sunday?

Aug 1-6 is what should be correct; as the prematch (CROs) are shooting on the 1st. Regular competitors shoot the 2nd-5th with a shoot off on the 6th (or possible overrun in case of inclement weather)
That guy that made the match copy really needs a proofreader...

lol, no worries. I am glad to help in anyway.

BTW, some of the rd counts are incorrect also.
They come directly from the stage designers.
As Kirsch writes in his latest book - don't read a lot into stage drawings and descriptions.

6 out of the 17 stages start unloaded, of those 2 are holstered and 4 are gun lying on something. The only moving target I see is the swinging no-shoot in front of the poppers on #6 and #7.

Looks like several of the most interesting stages from last year's provincials are making a repeat appearance ;)

"something is a-foot at the Circle K", translation= different things available on the IPSC Canada website..........hint hint.....

does anyone know what the schedule for Sunday would be? Assuming nothing needs to be reshot from earlier days, what's the schedule for the shootoffs? Start time - 9am, 11am, 1pm, etc?

Thanks!
