IPSC Ontario must be doing so well that it turns away new members

The other difference is Outlaw anything isn't recognized by CFOs and could result in club's being shut down in the event of an accident.

I am interested in where you are getting that information from as many gun ranges and clubs run their own competitions ? The CFO has never expressed a concern over the practice that I am aware of . If a serious accident occurred , it is doubtful that the CFO would care what type of event it was . I seem to recall a female police officer being shot while doing drills at a range within the last couple of years ; and I believe there was a BB qualified competitor who shot and killed himself during an IPSC event in BC in 2017 as well .

I did my bb in 2011 shot lots and haven’t shot much the past couple years and I find out today I have to re do the bb course

Rules change so it’s necessary to stay up to date if you’ve been out of it that long.

You’re in Dryden? We’re having a BB course there at the end of April, and we’re trying to get DRPC affiliated with IPSC Ontario this year as well.

It’s not the CFO, it’s the lawyers that will destroy the club.

Yeah, I agree. In the event of an accident, a cfo could shut any range down. The notion that an ipsc event would be somehow less vulnerable to the whims of a cfo following an accident sounds a bit far-fetched.

Action ranges are certified for dynamic shooting. There is no CFO prerequisite for dynamic shooting.

Our club shoots (dynamically) - speed steel, IDPA, cowboy action, multi-gun, 3-gun, and action rifle events with no IPSC affiliation or black badge requirement. Before my time there was a self wounding injury (I've heard about 12 years ago), it had no impact.

If you are actually interested and want to obtain you’re black badge it’s easy, nothing is spoon fed for shooting sports, it is easy to find a course and do it and shoot ipsc, 230$ ish dollars isn’t much at all if you take into consideration of buying a full rig and a competition pistol.
From you’re 200$ you get certification to shoot and compete in actual sanctioned matches, while doing so eagerly compairing scores and traveling to different matches and competing against others.

The ranges that set up stages and Imitate ipsc courses and let uncertified shooters shoot them are merely imitating.
