Hi
From talking to old IPSC shooters I have been told that according to the rules, Once the RO has given the command If clear ahmmer down and holster, You close the slide and theoretically you can use a loaded mag to "drop the hammer". The gun will not go bang. If the gun goes bang you are DQ'd. You will probabbly only get away with this with experienced RO's.
Can't you stick you finger up inside the magwell to disengage the safety? I bet if you figure out where the safety contacts the mag you can hold it in the fire position and pull the trigger.
Just another option.
I thought about this as well but I'm sure some "Safety Sally" would throw a fit if she saw a loaded mag go into a gun after the "unload and show clear" command.

I'm no "Safety Sally", but the practice of inserting a loaded magazine into the unloaded-shown-clear pistol - to then drop the hammer - is a bad idea.
If you are really 100% certain that the chamber is empty, and therefore believe that you can be 100% certain that the pistol will not discharge when drop the hammer...well, you might as well point it at your head while you do it too.

no it's not a bad idea at all. Slide is forward, insert full mag, pull trigger, gun doesn't got bang, remove mag and holster. pretty simply and totally safe. if the gun goes bang, then it was the steps leading up the slide closing that caused that problem, not the inserting of the mag after the fact. Rounds don't just magically get into the chamber.
