Is 7.62x39 drying up?

Yea, NS will have some in the next month or two, so I hear and Tradex got their shipment in, so the drought is pretty much over, prices will be a bit higher though! Tradex has a good deal for 1500 rounds $349. and free shipping!

$350 seems to be the going rate for 1500. If i could find $300 id be buying a crap load. Problem with chinese surplus, about 15% of the rounds are questionable to shoot.

I knew the good times wouldn't last lol
Once the surplus dries up and the price went up, there was little appeal to me of old Commbloc arms. Ammo was getting harder to find and the price of it more than doubled in the time since I started with them.
It was getting to the point where I could shoot North American guns with North American non corrosive, decent quality, brass cased, bulk ammo for about the same price so it was a no brainer for me.

See the price of factory 7.62x54R in North America other than surplus in Canada these days? It's about $30 a box of 20. Even more for soft points if you're going to hunt.
Might as well dust off the old LeeEnfield and hit the Can Tire for some .303 Brit at that price.
Likewise with the 7.62x39mm Other than full up crates of surplus, you will be buying Barnaul lacquer coated steel case 20 round boxes for over $0.65 a round after tax.
Unless someone is going to start importing Wolf Steel case from the US at reasonable prices, things are going to get worse in the near future.

I bought 5 cases last year at 225 at cdn tire in Fredericton last year. Glad I stocked up.

Yep, I made the road trip, bought 10 crates last year, came to $264.50 taxes, gas and tolls in! Took my wife's civic! 5.9 l/100k up , load 660 lb of surplus ammo and just 6l/100k on the way back! I would make the trip again if that deal came on! They had 6 crates left when I was leaving the store and they raised the price to $275. Right then! Still a good price!

Good ol' CGN: folks reminiscing about paying $0.17/round last year. Today, when you can find it, it's $0.23 (+tax, of course), and yet when you list some for sale on the EE, you get offers ranging down to a record low (so far for me) of less than $0.06...and that guy wanted me to drive it to his house and carry it down to the basement for him! I think he hurt his shoulder or something; a common side-effect of short-arm syndrome.:)

they told me about you in the store. I was buying a crate a month until they told me price was going up.
