Is it a joke or are they serious?

What is a “Normal” price?
An acquaintance of mine needed some benchrest primers and paid $18.50 for a sleeve of CCI BR-2’s from a store.
He needed them and was willing to pay it so he did.

Well to me the normal price is what the stores are still listing these items for when they get them. I bought 1000 small rifle primers last week for 100 bucks (plus tax and shipping)that's closer to normal prices. The problem is people buying up everything available and reselling on forums like this at 3 times the price. Our sport is under attack and we should be helping each other not making it more difficult on each other to enjoy.

I load/shoot roughly 600-800 rounds per year so I'm not hoarding I try to keep about a 1-2 year supply on hand at all times. Not an easy thing to do these days if people hoard, it's one reason for all the scarcity these days.

$80/lb for Red Dot in the EE. I use a lot of the stuff to be honest but that is an absurd price considering it can usually be bought in bulk for less than anything else besides maybe Titegroup.

what is actually happening is big money lefties/democrat supporters are buying up the companies that produce the raw goods for making powder, primers, bullets and brass. These same rich lefties are also getting involved and pressuring shipping companies that transport firearms, ammunition, powders, primers and the raw materials to make them.
This is not rumour, it is fact.
We are not immune here in Canada, evidenced by companies such as Canpar making decisions to refuse the handling of firearms and ammunition/reloading supplies. I am sure that is but one example of how the lefties are messing with anything and everything to do with firearms and related items.

Proof?

By the way saying something isn’t rumour but fact doesn’t make it so. Incontrovertible proof works much better.

LOL!

How many guys here buy a glass of lemonade from the kids on the corner of their street? Refreshing isn't it. You realize you just overpaid for that glass of lemonade right! You could have almost bought a hole bag of lemons and made countless jugs at home for the price of that one cup you just had!!!! How many drink coffee? When was the last time you had a Tim's, or even better a Starbucks coffee???? Cheaper at home to make your own right!!! You can even buy all the same supplies they use in the store for a fraction of the price!! How bout drinking beer???? Nice cold one goes down enjoyably. YOU realize you over pay for all those things, compared to the real cost right that you could buy the supplies and make at home!!!!
How many have bought and sold homes lately??? You know you don't need a real estate agent for this right!! Yet no one on here is complaining on the fees they pay their agent!!

How many on here are offering up from their "stash" of stuff, to provide for others to keep shooting????? Be it powder, primers, brass! Hell ya if I have something that I know others want I am going to get what ever I can for it! This is because I know that it is going to cost to replace it, so I can keep shooting at the same time. Some are a little bit more resourceful in finding things. This cost time, effort, but they are willing to still do it, if it helps others shoot.
"Regular Retail" has gone up on all these items. We all can see it. Then you pay tax, then shipping on these items. That all costs $$$. Don't want to pay the asking price, get off your soap box and go find it yourself, for cheaper!! Good Luck on that as that is getting harder and harder, on top of buying limits!!! We all see it, a nice stack of just came in supplies that are in demand. Sorry, your limit is one item!

Anyways rant over!!

Hope you enjoy those primers as you continue shooting for the rest of the season!!!!

So I ran across an add of someone looking for some older, discontinued bullets. Probably an old feller with a pet load, wanting to make some more, but out of bullets, and not wanting to get into new bullets, or new loads.

Well, I ran across 200 of these bullets. Cost me next to nill, yet someone paid $29.99 retail on these when they bought them off the shelf, I'm sure years ago.
Old feller was so ecstatic that someone offered them to him that he is already prepping brass for their arrival. He will get them in the mail in a few days, and be smiling from ear to ear while out shooting again with his pet load. Hope he puts some more meat on the table this fall!!

I guess I gouged him because I charged him current retail for these!!!

Happy hunting old feller!!

Well said!

These billionaire communist scumbags will do anything to destroy our once great society.

We have seen it with the heavy handed police tactics during the freedom convoy and the emergency act.

We continue to see the leftist media propaganda regarding the Coutts thugs that are involved in legal action being framed around pictures and video of the Coutts freedom convoy.

Even though the freedom convoy had absolutely nothing to do with these people.

The are many elite that want us in shackles and impotent.

Unfortunately there are too many dimwitted judicial and enforcement lackeys that continue to haul water for them.

Was sitting there last night thinking more about this!!!

How many on here complaining about pricing want to sell me their house that they bought years ago for the price they bought for, without profit?? Don't think there will be too many lining up for that one? Get your heads out of the sand...... we all have the desire to sell the things we bought previously.... for profit. It is what keeps us going.

Don't like the high price that the seller is asking, carry on in life! Don't let it bother you, as no one is asking you to spend your money there. To some what might seem like getting ripped off, might seem like a deal to others!!!! Let that one sink in a bit. It has always been about supply and demand! We have a demand, the supply will dwindle and the price will reflect the demand. As simple as it gets. How many here collect cars? Why do you pay sooo much for a hard to find vehicle that might be in excellent shape? How many find "sleepers", and think of the profit they can flip to keep their addiction going?

I have a bad habit..... I like shooting, and it demands a lot of supplies. I've shot over 500 rifle rounds since the start of the year, and I don't compete. That is not counting the rimfire I shoot. I just love shooting. I compliment the cost of the supplies with profits of selling things, so I can keep buying new things to try.

Do we push the envelope a bit... yea sometimes. Sometimes there is wiggle room, and I'll wiggle some, but sometimes there isn't any. No, I don't buy all the supplies I find. I buy some for myself, and a few extra to sell, so I can off set the cost of the ones I use.

Every retailer out there is the same, weather you agree to it or not. Yea, they sell for profit, to keep the lights on, people employed, but in the end they want to gain profit above and beyond their costs of doing business. Some do better, because of customer service, as they see the profit margins gain quicker by keeping more customers happy. I'll let you figure out the rest.

House analogy works within a reason. If you list your old house at say 10% more than new, ok fine but if you list yours 500% more than new, I get to laugh and make fun of you. Screw anyone ripping fellow gun owners in this time.

Today’s large rifle primer price $400, magnum $500………holy …. dude, have some shame!

It doesn't matter what he paid for them. He may actually have bought them recently from an estate sale or even at a garage sale and put them on the EE to see what he could get, or he may just be playing around to get people upset?? Just like the guy who is offering up once fired primers.

It’s happening with the vendors as well.
$1750 for shadow2 ? Have really jumped $500 in a year?

I happily paid 2k all in for one, considering it was my last chance potentially ever. Wouldn't have paid more only because I couldn't afford to.

It's happening with everything.
I paid 10k for a used 2009 in 2012, I just traded it in in a new model and got 14k trade in value.
I thought I'd get 3k from the trade in

Surprise, ee price for Win large rifle primers went up another notch from last night. Another greedy sob listed them for $500 now. Way to go, destroy our sport for new comers you a holes. I hope your own primers burn in house fire!
Retailers are going to see these prices and be like, why the heck are we selling these for $120 let’s jack upto $500.

It's a testament to character when a "have" will go out of his/her way to profit off the misfortune of a "have not".
I even have friends and family with this character flaw and it's simply a part of human nature.

What hurts is when a community of like minded enthusiasts start ripping each other off.
