Is there a need for more Cdn made AR parts?

Secondary engraving can be done by laser, the maker, model, country or origin, year of manufacture and serial number must be cut into the action .3mm deep according the the RCMP lab and to comply with the new UN marking regulations.
Also laser means outsourcing, where cnc engraving I can keep inhouse.

The rumors persist, we were supposed to be UN compliant in 07, then in 08, possibly in 09 who knows?:confused:
I am not positive the UN crap will ever be law, but would rather err on the side of caution and be compliant now, it really makes no difference as I am proud to be letting the world know that these are made in Canada, so would be putting something along the line of made in Canada on them anyway. Incorporating the year of manufacture into the serial number is not an issue and actually helps me identify when each lower was made. To engrave .3 mm deep is easy , just a tool depth setting on the program.
For those who don't comprehend .3mm that is the same depth as most manufacturers roll stamping is on the actions currently.
 
i am only starting to get the black gun bug but from my research if you could machine a billeted lower similar to magpul offering (there MPLA) you would have a winner not only here but in the US market.
Magpul stopped making them do to cost. I don't have the full reason on cost.

The only sourse of MPLA lowers right now are from Noveske Rifleworks LLC and theyare only building complete rifles and are on back order

I would be interested if you could duplicate the Magpul lower.

To make a 100% EXACT copy is looking for litigation, that I frankly do not need. Also I prefer to have something slightly unique rather than a carbon copy of someone elses product.
If you looked at the photos already posted you will note there are ALOT of the features that Magpul incorporated that we are using, just our tolerances will be tighter and we have included some features they didn't.

We will have photos of the 1st lower that is produced, next week.:D

Having a unique (Canadian made) lower is THE biggest reason I am buying one. Can't wait for the first pics. :popCorn:

I wouldn't suggest copying without prior approval getting license to use their design would be the proper course. I have noted your drawings and a readily available billeted lower in Canada is very appealing. My reference to Magpul was as a bench mark for billeted lowers as they seem to have gotten it right according to the community and could be/have been a valuable reference source for design features.

Getting licensed to produce someone elses stuff costs $$$ LOTS of $$$ and to what gain? I don't think Magpul really needs to make a percentage off what we make here, there by increasing the price to the Canadian shooters who I would like to provide firearms and parts to. Especially seeing as our US neighbors government seems to be going out of the way to make it harder for us to have their stuff.

I do not want to sound vain, but maybe, just maybe, us dumbass Canadians can come up with something even better. It HAS happened a time or 2 before.

We have amassed 7 different uppers to make sure they will function with as many as possible. We know that old colt SP1s and the like will not fit directly due to their odd pin arrangement, anything current should be plug and play.
Direct answer to your question YES we will be not only fitting every upper we have access to but will be test firing them for function before they are shipped.

Yes we have incorporated the tension screw, now whether 1 wants to use it is up to them.

can you make mine so the safety swings around 180* to go from safe to semi auto fire and not the normal 90*.... I want mine to be "mil-spec"

Got my parts waiting :) The optional custom designs and built in trigger guard are gong to make this a uber cool, not to mention the quality which I`m sure will be there aswell.
