Is this JP Sauer SxS Worth it?

That's the priciest coach gun I've seen for a while... yikes . Check Frontier for their selection or pick up a nice double from intersurplus and cut it off..coach guns are fun but not worth investing big money into unless you're shooting competition like SASS.

Went with because of the price, I like the look, condition was VG, and it's a better quality model vs other baikal, comparable to the German guns i believe?

They're great guns and solid as a rock. Some double snobs sniff at them ( lack of sophistication, plain wood, no engraving etc) but any shotgun made up to the early 70s at Izhevsk are winners in my opinion. I believe the 54 was last made in the late 60s but not sure on the date code. I've seen them with the year just stamped on ( nicely).

Now you can enjoy looking at the flats and figuring out all the numbers and letters!

Its got decent engravings and nice looking wood. Barely any dings. I've taken it apart a few times and I'm still trying to figure out what all the symbols mean. The description said it was a special model that was trying to emulate the German guns.
