ISSC Rifle... very disappointing!

North Sylva is the place to start. There is an MK22 thread on their section of the forum. Try posting there so that we can all see their response because they don't seem to aknowledge that there are any issues with these rifles.

This is even more disappointing!!! further to a very long and nasty letter to the CEO of ISSE this is what they reply (see below)????
Good luck to the ones that still own the rifle, luckily I returned mine!

"We regret to inform you that we have been engaged in a contract dispute with the manufacturer, ISSC Gambels, since August 6, 2011. Unfortunately, until the dispute is resolved we cannot respond to requests for service or warranty work. We will keep your request on file and as soon as the dispute is resolved we will try to respond to your request."

wow... I was seriously considering this ISSC rifle but went with a Ruger 10/22 instead. Still would like to have one eventually but will probably wait until version 2 or something, to have all the bugs and politics stuff worked out.

Well I went to the Range on Sunday with my new ISSC MK22, I only had one feed problem, but im pretty sure it was the shooter not the gun. I fired over 400 rds with CCI mini-mag, winchester sum sonics, winchester Target, and a Remington something. It fired everything well, I was suprised with the factory sights not bad.
I was impressed, I did loctight a few scres before I went out so im not sure if that helped. The Mk-22 will be staying.

I found that Winchester Dynapoint GT 40 Grain at 1550 FPS worked in mine.
replaced the allen head screws with better quality and longer ones for the action as well. fired a box of 500 through her and had only 5 FTE .
hopefully this helps.

I finally got a chance to take mine out. This is the first semi-auto rimfire I have ever owned, but I have put many rounds through the Mossberg tactical and a Ruger 10/22.

Because time was somewhat of an issue, I was only able to get some reliability testing done. On average, I was shooting about 8-10 rounds a second (yes, that fast) and all mags were loaded to 20 rounds. Here are my results:

Remington 22 Subsonic 38 grain lead round nosed hollowpoint - 1 FTFeed in 50 shots.
Remington 22 Thunderbolt 40 grain lead round nose - 2 FTFire in 50 shots (light strikes)
Remington 22 Yellow Jacket 33 grain truncated cone hp - 1 FTFire (light strike), 1 FTE in 50 shots
American Eagle 38 grain copper plated hp, high velocity - 1 FTFire (light strike) in 40 shots
Blazer 40 grain lead round nose - 1 FTFeed in 50 shots
CCI High Velocity 29 grain copper plated round nose - I gave up counting. I don't think I got more than 3 consecutive shots without a failure. I had FTFire (light strikes), FTFeed, FTE, and many mag issues where rounds were binding in the mag. I tried a 2 brand new mags and it still had the same problem. I tested 100 rounds.

As I said in the beginning, this is my first 22 semi, but I have shot many. It didn't have any more failures that others I have tried (except for the dismal CCI performance). No surprises here. Also, the recoil was very nice. While I understand that rimfires don't have bad recoil, it did have less than any other rimfire I have tried. I could not pull the trigger fast enough. Great fun.

I found the rifle to be comfortable. The iron sights are novel and I quite like them. I did mount my Aimpoint T1 towards the end, and I think that it may have found it's new home. I haven't taken it apart to see if the gremlin screw came loose, but will do so if I start having some bad issues.

Next stop, accuracy testing. Although it is worth noting, I didn't miss the 8.5x11" target once at 25 yards while hammering the trigger. Right now, I think that the Subsonics are going to be my go-to ammo choice.

Happy so far.

Man i really like the look of this rifle! I think i'll wait for a newer version, and hopefully all the bugs are worked out of it! Although it seems some guys arn't really having any issues. I had bought a SCAR airsoft for my son a year ago, and it was just such a cool looking rifle!

I wonder how long it will take for ISSC to address the issues and release a V2?

I had mine delivered on friday put a scope on it friday night took it apart saturday afternoon to locktite the screws put her back together and shot her on sunday. i put about 15 mags through it and i only had less the ten FTE and they were when i was firing rapid rate, and only one FTF and that was a light strike that i reloaded and the round fired fine. For ammo i finished off a federal bulk pack and started into a winchester bulk pack. Overall I'm pleased with the rifle this is my first semi-auto .22 and i expected these problems with such a small round.

I took my MK22 out last Saturday for the second time. Temperature was -4 C that day and the shoot was with snow on the ground. Fired four full mags of Federal Bulk HV stuff (88 rounds). One FTE (a stovepipe). So, thus far, the gun has seen around 300 rounds through it with ONLY ONE failure! I have not touched any screws and, in fact, I have not taken the gun apart or cleaned it. I am either very lucky or the gun will start chocking at a higher round count but, so far, I am very impressed. Five more people fired it and they all fell in love with it.

I took mine out today for the first time. I had a few ftf's and a couple stove pipes. This was with CCI bulk pack ammo, 525 packs. I probably had 15 through the 400 rounds or so. Just rack it and it was gtg again. I also did a bunch of fast firing and the gun actually worked better that way. I didnt like the look of the gun at first, but now I think it looks awesome. This gun is a blast to shoot, and definitely a keeper. It will be fun to take out into the bush with a couple buddies in the summer. I thought it would be boring shooting a .22 but I had a great time and didn't even feel like shooting my 9mm pistol that I brought.

This one is staying and I can't wait to fire it off again. Btw, I did take the gun apart and blue loc-tighted the important 2 nuts in the back before I went out.

I shot a brand new one this weekend (tan looks better then black fyi, although color has nothing to do with it hehe)

I had a dud round every 10-15 trigger pulls. Rim was struck but no firing. Ran about 300 rounds and the problem persisted all day even after oiling the bolt as it was clearly striking the rim to slightly.

Granted the rifle was brand new so I guess it needs to be worked in

took mine out to the range yesterday after tightening some screws and the only problem i had was about five or six failure to feeds in about 150 rounds. i think it was the way i was loading the mags though. the problem became less persistent as i shot. happy so far!

Took this new in the box ISSC SCAR with two sons and 1200 rounds out to the club. Put the full 1200 through with 4 mags for reloading, almost no extended down time. The odd fail to fire but less than 4 or 5 out of the 1200 rounds did not function. Cheap bulk CCI Blaser, no complaints. The boys had a great time, we mounted an Aimpoint after 300 with the iron sights. Had to tighten the top optic mount rail and one of the magazine thumb mounts. I would suggest the full removal and loc tite every screw on it routine. Other than that it ran great, kids loved it!!!!! Fun plinker, only worked it at 25 yards but great groups.

For those that are having issues, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I'm happy to report that my mk22 finally works without issue!... Mostly. was having light strikes & ftes and none of the standard fixes worked. manufacturer suggest I replace the firing pin and hammer spring (with a stronger one). I got these parts through north sylva.... Parts arrived about a week after ordering & replaced the hammer spring myself. I inspected the new firing pin and found it to be identical to my old one so instead of replacing it I did the firing pin mod for the gsg-5 (suggested earlier in this thread). I also replaced both problem screws with longer ones. took it out and shot over 150 stingers with no issue... Also used some other cci ammo with only one light strike! unfortunately other bulk ammo still results in ftes but at least I can shoot some stuff without issue!

Sorry if this is a disjointed post... Writing on my phone @ the range!
