Can't you have a new bushing fitted to that barrel? IIRC that's one of the tricks to make a tack-driving 1911.

Jo Dlask. A bit finicky when new, due to the fact they're tight but very, very accurate guns. Also a terrific buy for a hand fitted premium 1911 made in Canada.

Actually, they start at very reasonable prices considering they're made here.
If you measure your barrel, and the inside of your slide, EGW will cut a bushing to fit it....I put EGW bushings on all my 1911's...well worth the price.
