Ithaca Shotguns

Call me a fudd, but I tend to lean to wooden furniture. If I come to trial for the same actions, which shotgun do I want shown to the jury? An 18" barrel on a nicely blued receiver with a duck-hunt scene engraved on it? Or a black shotgun with synthetic stock, picatinny rail, harris bipod, tactical light with red dot scope, sidesaddle, and sling with bandolier loops?

Why choose?

I have a Beretta Extrema in Advantage Wetland, an Ithaca 37, a DA Outlaw and a Rem 870 with multiple rails, a removable buttstock and a red dot.

I'm still after a nice over and under as well. :D

Can't see why it would be difficult to import if the DA Grizzly can make it in.

Grizzly comes from China and the Ithaca comes from the US.

It's not a matter of getting them in, it's a matter of which countries allow them to leave ;)

That one there, I don't think we can bring in at this time. Anything over 18" barrel is fine, and we think anything under 18" with just pistol grip is fine.

Under 18" with buttstock is supposed to be a not go, but we also haven't applied for export permits yet. I don't know whether it just needs DOS approval or if they'll deny it.

Any idea when you'll know more about the under 18in versions?

I like the 18-1/2in defender, but would likely buy a 12-1/2in grizzly instead. But a 13in defender would be a no-brainer.

We'll bring in different stock options for those who want to switch it up. Contact your local dealer as well cause our main focus is to get Ithaca out to them.

I keep looking at the 8 shot, 20in barrel wood stock version and it's growing on me. Pretty sure this will be my first gun when the registry is offically history.

Any ideas on sling attachment? Will the various 870 attachments out there fit the ithaca?

Bump. Any ideas out there for a sling attachment for the Defender?

I have the defender, bought it off of another CGN'r about a year ago, and I love it. I have not bothered to put a sling on it yet.

Waiting for the OK from US DOS on the paperwork for the Stakeouts :D

The other ones are just a check in the box.

Any idea of a timeline for that approval? Ballpark is fine... a week, a month, 6months?

If you get them you'll also have regular Defender wood furniture available for purchase?

The short barreled Ithaca with wooden Defender furniture is my dream gun.

Do you expect a whole lotta trouble at the dinner table what with the shotgun, and the baseball bat? Along with the vacuum to help clean up the mess.

P

LOL. It's wrapping paper, not a bat. Best lighting n the house is the dining room.

I understand that it's a fixed barrel. But is it welded or can it be unscrewed by a gunsmith. Just thinking about a Vang Comp job.
