We have been speaking with serious BR and FClass shooters who are having top results with JC's barrels. We are looking for feedback from those who use his barrels.

Regards,

Peter

I put a .223 barrel on my Remington 700 target rifle. 1:7 twist, 30 inches long, shoot like a house on fire. Bought a .308 barrel to put on my Barnard target rifle. shoots great. Bought another on to screw onto my Millennium Rifle (now my back up target rifle) but ended up screwing it onto my friends Paramount action. He replaced the barrel, but before I could it screwed onto my Millennium another friend need a barrel to I ended up putting it on his Armtech action. That barrel should be coming in the next few weeks. I will try to get it screwed onto my Millennium before it ends up being repurposed again. Lol All the .308 barrels are 1:11" twist and finished at 30". I am going to order another one just to have on hand.

I have a 22br barrel, 7 saum barrel, and a 6.5 creedmoor barrel from JC. I have another barrel on order. They are absolute hammers, head spaced perfectly and very reasonably priced. Lead time is longer than advertised but worth the wait

Peter,

I shoot short range benchrest mostly in .30BR.
JC barrel shoot has good as my Kreiger barrel on my Borden Rimrock.
Installed 6 so far in caliber .30 BR on Club member Savage model 12 action and every one of them is competitive.
Still have a new one in my safe. Got also two of my guns converted to 6BR with JC’s barrel, they shoot on par with a select Shilen barrel that took 9 months to get.

My next gun to get a JC barrel is a Kelby build Panda in 6ppc. I know at least two guy at my Club that will also need barrels in 6ppc…

Those JC barrel are good.

I have purchased JC's barrels for years now and normally buy about 10 to 12 at a time of various calibers. Every one has been a hummer!! I just threaded up 3 for my Creedmoor F-Class rifle and working through them to break them in which usually is a very quick process for his barrels. Wonderful to have a great manufacturer in Canada. He made me a 30BR prefit for my Ultimatum action and it is superbly accurate! Great guy to talk to also! Just grab a coffee and comfortable chair!!

JC uses single-point cut-rifled barrels. The best barrel making article is by Dr. Kolbe: https://www.firearmsid.com/feature articles/rifledbarrelmanuf/barrelmanufacture.htm

Yes we know JC well and we have a Timberwolf with a JC 31" fluted barrel which is exceptionally accurate, but it is results from "large" numbers that determine consistent quality. It is our opinion and that of the vast majority of top competitors that cut-rifling is the best method. Our post was to get feedback from users as we will be stocking barrels that can compete with front runners Bartlein and Krieger. Not interested in " I have a button-rifled barrel that is accurate". Only interested in how JC's barrels shoot.

Peter

I've had 1- 6mm JC MTU on my comp rifle and a buddy has had a couple. We've had a bunch of other makes in various calibers as well. If going with a Canadian barrel, future purchases will be KS or IBI.

I have a few, 308, 223ai, 6mmAI, 6.5 creedmore, 264 win mag, 28 Nosler.

All shoot excellent. Fit and finish is top notch.
I bought a 300PRC in a iBI. But I regret not getting A JC instead.

I have a bare action that needs a barrel. It will be a JC

Regarding the 30 BR question. Since it was my first 30BR and didn't know much about it, JC used his reamer. Peter, is regard to your question. I believe that JC's barrels are as good, if not better, than anything made in the US. In fairness though, KS from Edmonton and Hugh Williamson from Calgary barrels are very top notch also. We are fortunate to have these manufacturers here in Canada.

I have a JC Light Palma I installed on a R700, which I chambered in .308. Only 68 rounds through it so far. After break-in and basic zeroing, I fired 9 consecutive 5rd groups at 100m, each and every one being sub-minute. The ammunition was what I had on hand, loaded for a different rifle.

Thanks Steve:

This is is great feedback as are other comments - thanks. As you know we deal with a lot of serious shooters and think JC's barrels are on par with Bartlein and Krieger with results across Canada supporting this.

The great barrel maker Boots Obermeyer spoke often with JC and called JC-designed barrel equipment " the greatest thing since sliced bread".

Regards,

Peter.

I've visited JC's shop a couple of times, and he showed me his machines for drilling, reaming, rifling and contouring. Cleverly designed and very professional. He knows what he is doing.
My second JC barrel is a .224 Light Palma 1-8 that I have chambered in .22-.250. It is also a shooter.
If anyone is visiting Bouctouche, there are a couple of good restaurants...
