JR Carbine Unboxing, Firing & Takedown Videos

Mant the AE and Blazer grouped nice for 75m. Nice job buddy!!!!!

On another note i got ahold of EMF about the carbine kits for changing calibers and the .40 cal is next month and the .45 acp is a couple months out still. I have ordered my JR already and am also going to get the .45 kit when it comes out. The techs at EMF are going to email me when the kits come out and I will post up a new posting so people know they are available. I do not know if any Canadain dealers are going to bring them in though.

Any idea on pricing for the kits

When .45 becomes available, I will want a conversion kit too. Looks like this gun is a win for the inexpensive NR niche, and nicely customizable too! Glad I got mine when I did, I tend to agree with Farmer Harv's opinions on pricing.... And I didn't mind giving Epps a few dollars more!

Received my BAD-ASS (Battle Arms Development - Ambidextrous Safety System) from Target Sports today, and it totally rocks! It comes with a regular, thin and short lever, and you can mix and match them for the setup you prefer. The package also contains a new detent which is superior to the factory one in finish, and a torx L wrench also. In use the new safety is smoother and has much more precise clicks into the detent positions. Highly recommended for any southpaws out there.

Didn't have to sell any firearms. Three crates of 7.62 x 39 sold instantly for me on the EE. A couple of other parts that I wasn't using should go soon as well. :D

I got my confirmation from Epps. Just have to wait the 1-3 days that these "non-restricteds" have to wait to clear. First time I have ever had to wait longer than 10 minutes to clear a non-restricted. Even my weird numbered Russian SKS cleared in 10 minutes.

Until the JR Carbine comes I hope Farmer Harv doesn't mind me watching his videos 1000 times. :p

LOL! As long as nobody posts a video of a kidney removal, or worse, the eBay page where they list it, it's all good. :)

I was going to do another couple of vids from different angles of it firing and ejection, but the weather sucks here again. Maybe if I cut a small hole in the shop wall I could shoot from heated comfort. Hmmm....

Officially jealous.

Farmer Harv-

How many pounds do you figure the trigger pull is on your gun? I got mine the other day and the trigger is horrendously heavy. Makes it difficult to shoot fast. Any suggestions on what to do to improve it?

The felt recoil and muzzle rise is much greater than I expected as well. The gun *feels* harder to control than my 16 inch AR and XCR in 7.62X39.

Other than that it runs well so far. I put about 150 lead reloads through it so far without a problem. Great for walks in the woods and my boys like it too.

Well, I just took (another?) one for the team. Freck. I need to research more and order less.

The RRA National Match 2 stage trigger won't work with the JR Carbine. I just installed one, and it was freaking beautiful. So nice it almost brought a tear to my eye from the sheer goodness of it. But it won't work. The disconnector can't quite grab the hammer on the way back, so it follows the bolt home and would turn the rifle into a bad bolt action.

A call to RRA sorta helped, as even though the tech had never heard of the JR Carbine, he said that they only use a single stage with 9mm AR's, as the NM doesn't work with them.

Freck again.

Anyone know of or have a decent single stage trigger?

I don't think the trigger weight is part of the equation...the bolt simply doesn't push the hammer down far enough for the disconnector to grab it. The 9mm bolts (or at least this one in particular) must be just a little smaller in diameter compared to standard .223/5.56, and combined with the different disconnector setup in the 2 stage trigger it adds up to no workee.

Yah, the trigger is pretty ugly. You definitely want to do this:

Mine is right on 4.5lbs now, but still with a fair bit of creep.

I see an RRA two stage trigger in my future... :)

Too bad about that RRA trigger. This method you linked to, is it something you tried on your carbine?

I fired a 25 yard five shot group with mine today using some cheap bulk jacketed bullets over some tightgroup and came in just under an inch. I'm quite happy with that.
