I never notice this same shotgun(or maybe a 14" variant") plays a very highlighted role in the remake of "3:10 to Yuma" I'm watching it write now.

maybe its the way they filmed it but looking at the barrels from the front on the shotgun in 3:10 to yuma it sure looked like a chopped 10 gauge to me

BTW while talking about short shotguns about 10 or more years ago I read a lightweight ( Louis Lamour clone) western novel where the hero carried a chopped 10 gauge double. There were a bunch of them - it looked like a series along the likes of Mack Bolan except maybe not as prolific. Anybody recall the name of the novel series/hero?

I like the look of the slightly longer shotguns pictured above from "3:10 to Yuma"

Seems a little more balanced overall compared to the Outlaw.

son of a beach!

ok here's my pics, don't mind the flash or the paper lint from my cleaning rag.

first up is the pile of unassembled pieces

now the problem i am running into with reassembly is that flat piece to the right of the thin pin and to the left of the trigger (pic #1), can anyone see hows its oriented in their action?

any help would be appreciated

Have the backpackers got ejectors? or extractors?
Might as well smooth out the trigger while you are in there Hutchster..:)

Gee, I was overwhelmed looking at three pieces in the box without a manual, you just went to town there. Anyone take one of these all the way apart and get it back together yet? I've seen at least 2 posters in this thread, have problems with parts not going back together or other malfunctions. Maybe once some kind soul goes to the trouble of making a step by step FAQ, I'll attempt it, but until then, cleaning the 3 parts is gonna have to be enough.

BTW look for a range report tomorrow, should be some vids if I remember the camera.

I guess you don't have partial removal pics? :D

what happens if I only pull out the trigger guard? does it come out as one piece with trigger? or does everything fall out?

it's too bad you didn't have pics of what comes out with each pin.

I'll take a look for that flat peice tomorrow. it's too late to go digging through the safe tonight.

Can Am did say the design is based off something else (US made). so there is probably info on the net about that one. just have to figure out what it's bassed off of.

So I guess there is no manual for these then huh. Well it looks like you will have a fun night ahead of you trying to put it back together. :p

don't remove the components.
not even just the trigger.
seriously, or maybe i just suck at gunsmithing, and in that case go right ahead and try for yourself.
