Kel-tec bullpup shotgun

According to some posts on AR15.com the cost is supposed to be half of the RFB, so around $940 USD. Still not to bad for what you're getting, pure awesome.

i would hope so . no need for locking bolt face, no need for rifled bbl
so even at cost , thats a savings of 200- 250$
I,m guessing this will retail in canada for 1399,1499$

Further to the insightful discussion of the overall length.....
US NFA sets 26" as the legal minimum for a longarm not to be classified as a NFA controlled firearm. Legal minimum for a smoothbore barrel is 18".
Note the 18 1/2" barrel. Longer than it needs to be.
Do you suppose that this was to insure that the OAL made the limit?
If it makes 26" to satisfy the ATF, its going to meet the minimum length requirement here.
There is no way that KelTec is going to market this if it is subject to NFA controls.
So, it should be non-restricted, and it would take an OIC to classify it as restricted or prohibited.
Of course, if Charlie Angus bill becomes law.....

OK Smartass.

Here, I'll dumb it down.....The cutoff length is 660mm....that's 25.984"....when have you EVER seen a manufacturer list their measurements to .001"? They DON'T. They round up or down.... ALWAYS.

So...do YOU think .016 is a comfortable buffer? You do realize that a rubber buttpad compresses more than that...don't ya? You think the RCMP wouldn't pull the tape tight to the pad to suit their agenda? Do you even know what the ACTUAL length is? I guarantee you it's not exactly 26".....here's the rub brainiac: A manufacturer adding that extra .5" is a waaaaay safer buffer.

THAT'S what I meant.

Now: Go criticize someone who you really are smarter than, not someone you THINK you are smarter than ;)

Touchy, touchy.:D You did imply that 26.5" was the limit for restricted, though.

You didn't read the part where I said that I want a thicker recoil pad or longer barrel to give at least a 1/4" cushion on that 26" length, did you? I agree with you, that 26" number will be ballpark at best and I don't like being that close to the edge, either. We might even be on the same side on this one.

ASSUMING that Kel-Tec's listed length of 26" is actually correct, we are OK. If not, then we get the more expensive Canadian version with a slightly modified stock or longer barrel.

Given the effort that Kel-Tec invested in getting the RFB up here, I have little doubt they will do whatever tweaking is necessary to get this shotgun up here as well.

Mark - The OAL has to make the 26", as measured by ATF, to prevent the gun from being classified as a NFA firearm.
If the ATF accepts it as meeting the US 26" minimum limit, it'll pass here too.

That is good news for us. If they need the same 26" for US rules, we should be golden on length.

I better start saving my pennies if I plan to buy an RFB and this shotgun in 2011.

Thats pretty cool however Im wondering about reloading and keeping track of whats left in what tube. I wonder if you have to manually switch between tubes.
BTW could you explain your flag you have as an avatar Throttle monkey 1 it looks like youve taken a chinese communist flag and put Canadian maple leafs in place of the stars
as far as Im concerned this is sacrilage and if I ever saw one flying Id climb the pole and rip it down.

I was just surfing ar15.com and found this thing 26" long with a 18.5" barrel with a 14+1 capacity. I guess it's being revealed at this years shot show. Vault get on this!

KSG.jpg

Awesome. Please be non-restricted!!

kel-tec will do what ever it takes to get these in country like they did with the FRB rifle

Which technically should be nothing. It's OAL is 26"+, and barrel length doesn't really matter for pump action. Even then, it's 18.5"

Over on KTOG, the rep from KelTec said you should be able to buy 2 KSG's for the price of one RFB... so if that holds true up here, they should be about $1200.
