I agree with everything you have stated except the fact about you still using the stock rifle stock. I am really digging the CQB stock.Like I said in the wolverine section(my su16 came today!)
Anyways, for those wondering, the area ahead of the handguard, the first part of the exposed barrel measures around .618" wide.
I have 3 lar15 magazines i bought from wolverine, I put 10rds through each magazine with out issue, and 5rd through one keltec magazine without issue.
But the keltec magazines feel like crap, and the lar15 will even drop from from the action.
expect some keltec mags in the EE. The lar15 mags don't feel right in the buttstock, and the keltec magazines don't feel much better there imo.
Not a feature I will be using a lot.
Handguard bipod is useless to me.
You can feel the heat through em, but better out then in eh?
I like the sights and the rifle fits me great. Fun to shoot.
Will be testing accuracy later, probably next week.
Oh Ho!Little penny pinching going on, or I would have the ar stock. Before I put any more money into it, I want to make sure it'll print better groups then a mini14
Met up at Silverdale today with "Natesfitness" and he had just purchased one of these.
I have to say it seemed like a solid gun, and was as reliable as could be. I think he put 150 rounds through it without issue, and it was fresh out of the box.
We did laugh at the mags however, and the hand guard seemed pretty ridiculous with the bipod. It is a pain to lock back up if anything.
The problem once again is the price of these f**kin things!
They sell for $500 in the states, and at that price they are a great buy, but at $800 it is just not worth that IMHO. Too much plastic, and not enough goodies.
You then gotta buy the hand guard and stock separately which will cost you another $250 FFS.
While it is better built than the S2000 and the sights are much better, I still get that same cheap plastic feeling, and personally couldn't justify the price.
But in the end I can see the draw to this gun, and to each his own.
You know this got me thinking.I agree 100%. It was a lot of fun to shoot, very light, ate 150rnds of MFS straight out of the box with no cleaning and folds up!
The Bad: The mags are entirely made of plastic and flex when you start shoving in rounds. However they worked without a hitch.
The rail is also polymer. At the moment I have vortex strikefire I borrowed from my 10/22. I plan on mounting a very light optic in the future to play with the SU-16's strengths. Time will tell how the plastic rail holds up over years of use.
All in all I am happy with the purchase and it seems like a great little rifle.

K so I officially decided last night I like the original stock, so if anyone is interested I'll sell them my AR Stock adapter for what I paid for it, I'll pay the shipping, fair?
You know this got me thinking.
What if I baught 1 of these aluminum rails and placed it on the poylmer rail so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging the rail buy putting stuff on and off?

I got my SU 16 today and love it but Im having one hell of a time removing the bipod to install the optional forend. Before I break the bipod any suggestions for how to remove it the instructions are total crap.
How did you find the Strikefire? I just picked one up off the EE for the SU-16 but may ultimately go with the TRS25
