Has anyone come up with a quick release pin to replace the pin that holds from folding? I thought a slightly longer pin with a ring in it would be useful. have to wait till the new year to get mine.
I went to Brafasco with the original pin and they hooked me up with a hitch pin. $5 fix (any fastener company would have it).
I hear ya Silveragent! No one warned me what kind of ##### it was to install the compact foreend. No tolerances whatsoever. Squeezing the foreend with the springs and the retainer ring at the very end took me an hour of trying. I feel like gluing it all to make sure it never comes off.
...the back-end of the scope is actually lined-up so that it would theoretically not "jut-out" if the rifle (sans pistol-grip) was folded !...
, but it reassures me that I did not place my scope too far forward....The rail adds maybe 3/8" and is def solid mounted. Gives a whole lot of mounting options for other things. Those forends are pretty solid mounted on the rail?
How much height does it add? Worried it may add to much height to have scope properly sighted.
It's basically a rail on top of a rail so it's attachment is quite solid. I will get you the link to the quad rail when I get back home. I did have to do a tad bit of filing to it but was super easy. When I'm done with the rifle, it'll have a solid rail from right above where the AR stock adapter is to the front of the gas block. I just need to figure out the back end of it.P@rick...what forend is that, and do you have closeup pics of how it attaches?
Btw thats one of the nicest SU16's I've seen![]()
