Killing an animal

Not sure if i agree with that. Hunting is fun, and there is a thrill when you get a big bull moose in the sights of your 30-06. After the bang, well then all the work starts.

yes but are you proud that you just killed something? or are you proud you just fed your family for the next 3 months? and of course the awesome trophy you get. but that trophy in my opinion means nothing if the animal it came from meant nothing to you

People use the feeding the family excuse all the time. While im sure it may be true for some the majority hunt for the thrill of it. Most people today dont depend on hunting as a means of survival. Not saying people are wastefull either, i moose hunt as often as i can, im not gonna starve if i dont, pizza is just a phone call away. I just love that meat, and would never just shoot an animal for the heck of it and leave it there to rott. Its a primal thing, humans are predators, theres something about hunting that is a thrill and there is nothing wrong with that. Which is Why there is such a big market for hunting gear.

Unless you need the hide for something, slitting the throat of an animal is a piss poor way to kill it IMO.
Animals die faster from a heart/lung shot. They also dies faster from a heart/lung stab with a knife. This is experience from finishing off road killed deer.
Now if your surgically minded, I'm told you can nip off a deers' spinal cord at the base of the brain, but I don't know how, so the stab will work for me.
