Kroil-- wow- this stuff cleans!

I remember being Hyderized but cant recall a shot of Kroil as an offering at the establishment at the time. Must have lost focus!!. D.H.

AP, It is the salt air and sea spray, fog and humidity that is the real evil here in the summer, and we are ( in the winter ) so dry that you can get an electric shock walking across your carpet. Kroil I use that sh*t on every thing.

I bought my most recent can of Kroil 8 oz. in 2001 from Williams Arms in Port Perry, ON. I used it sparingly and yes it's quite a lifetime of use. I am amazed how clean I can get any barrel! :) Holy poop, I'm a master barrel cleaner with a few drops of that stuff sitting overnight!

Cheers

Just tried PB Blaster, Worked like a charm in combination with JB bore paste and JB bore shine... My SVT40 bore looks like factory new...

Now on the the M38, But that one is probably unsavable...

So after looking and reading and listenting and thinking I'm thinking that for the price Ed's Red is a better solution....and by many accounts at least as good as Kroil.

geeze, I use Kroil in the shop, bought a gallon can of it a few years ago. I should give it a try for cleaning

I also use Gibbs penetrating oil. It actually works very well on metals. I buy Gibbs by the case in the US. It is a better penetrating oil than Kroil is

Jb bore cleaner paste is a mild abrasive, id stick with somethibg that wont wear down your rifling.

JB Bore Paste does not harm your rifling. It is a first choice of a lot of benchrest shooters for removing fouling. You don't use it often just when bore fouling will not come out with conventional solvents. Just a few passes with JB and you can feel a difference in resistance when you push the patch through on a badly fouled bore.
