Lab Radar - Bluetooth

1.2.0 only came out 2 weeks ago and was brand new. I would expect they are trying to fix issues that were reported back from that initial release.

I'm hoping that was what 1.2.1 was for. I really want to see this Bluetooth communication bug completely squashed in 1.2.2. It came out pretty quickly. There has been a LOT of #####ing about it.

Just to clarify, the Radar worked well, it's just the App that wouldn't connect. It did once, then I wasn't able to after that. I kinda gave up after a while and would try to connect every 10-15 mins after with no luck

Manually disarm the Labradar by pressing the Arm/Disarm button, connect via the iOS LabRadar app, it should connect even under 1.2.1. It will not connect if the Labradar is in 'Armed' mode.

or, better, download and install 1.2.2 and see if it works without the LabRadar going away whenever it feels like it.

As to the LabRadar itself, yes, I have only used it twice but I have never had a problem operating it from the manual keys on the device.

Ive owned one since April 2015, serial # is 22 - great machine. I actually had to send it away last week to Infinition in Quebec because it would no longer accept an SD card. Would just flash blue when you tried to turn it on with SD installed. They had it for 2 days and its on its way back to me, no charge, and updated firmware to 1.2.2! I've been using a borrowed radar with the app and have had little luck with the bluetooth. I'll try 1.2.2 on it and report back

that doesn't sound promising! Did you try restarting your phone? See below my email from Infinition

Are you enabling your bluetooth by using the control center or you did use settings->bluetooth->turn on?
If you have other disconnect problem try to hard reset your iphone by holding power+home button until your iphone close then the white apple logo appear (now you can release both button Then try to reconnect the labradar. It should fix the problem. Apple made some change on how bluetooth works with ios 11.
P.s sorry for the mistake typo I am on my iphone

Let me know if it fix your problem,

I forgot to told you, you can't reconnect to your labradar if your labradar is armed and you can't connect to your labradar within the bluetooth iphone settings( you need to connect within the app without pairing it like you would do with a speaker or any bluetooth accessories.)

Have determined my wife's iphone running version 10 works fine with Radar, her iPad (version 9) also works fine. I had my iphone (version 11) connected once last night for a 5 minute span but once I closed the app I was not able to connect again last night

This morning I turned the radar on, opened the app, and was able to connect right away on my iPhone. I was connected for a couple minutes, then closed the app. Opened app again and it wont connect

iOS 11.4, iPhone 6s.

Has issues maintaining connection.

I have done a hard reset on my iPhone, uninstalled and re-installed the LR app, and installed firmware VerA: 1.2.2 on my LabRadar. I have not had an opportunity to test it out in actual range use since.

I still have old (an hour on them so about 60% used up already) alkaline batteries in it so maybe I'll set it up outside, arm it and wait to see if it will disconnect while waiting as the batteries drain.

I just got back from CSC and mine seems to work fine. I still have 1.2.1 firmware. The only time it disconnected from Bluetooth is if I shut the LabRadar off and then on to get into the menu to change bullet weight. That is a bit irritating as I know of no other way to do it.
I have iPhone 6 with 11.3.1. I see there is once again another Apple update!!!!

You can change bullet weight via the App by swiping right and go into Labradar settings. On the unit, hold the arm button down and it will back you out where you can get into the menu settings

I guess I’m going to have to start taking my iPad as it’s much easier to see this. Thanks got it.

OK, back in from outside. Over the past hour I have managed to kill the batteries by leaving the screensaver set to whatever is max length time on and max time of 300 sec on 'armed' mode. On top of this I played with every setting I could both on the Labradar and on the app. I could not get it to self disconnect. I armed and disarmed multiple times at multiple points. I let the arming timer time out with the orange light flashing and turning blue. I shut down and restarted the app at multiple points and it just kept on going or would reconnect at a button press if I had exited the app and restarted it. Dunno. Going to have to test it back at the range. Maybe the 1.2.2 update and the hard reset of my iPhone fixed it up. I guess it will be a week or so before I get to check it out again.

Order one of these....

http s://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00R97DNHE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Twice the capacity of the one sold by Labradar for about the same price.

I've had my Labradar out 4 times for 4 hours each time and the pack still shows 75% charged.

I think he was trying to make the radar drop bluetooth due to reduced AA power. I am happy with the USB bank that Labradar sells, I get half a dozen good range trips (4-5hrs each) on a single charge. Sure beats the 2hrs on 6AA!
