lanolin

I use the liquid lanolin mixed with isopropyl alcohol. Cases slide a lot better than any store bought stuff I've ever used. Cheap too

i was looking for the ingredients of bag balm (utter butter) and this is what i found:

Old locals still talk about how Bag Balm saved everybody’s hide in the winter of 1933, when the temperature fell to 50 below zero. In 1937, Admiral Richard Byrd took Bag Balm to the North Pole. During World War II, soldiers used it on their rifles to keep them in shape. After the Twin Towers in New York fell on 9-11, we quietly provided Bag Balm to be massaged into the scratched paws of search dogs who relentlessly roamed over mountains of rubble looking for survivors.

this stuff is too awesome, and dirt cheap because it is for cows udders.

I ordered some . Here's a thought after reading all the responses on this thread. This stuff is in big demand in the shooting / reloading community. Why would the dealers not catch onto this , and buy a few cases and offer this on their links here ?
Is it because it lasts too long? Works too well ? And would stifle the sale of the expensive spray lubes on the market?
I realize by buying a 4 oz. bottle of liquid lanolin , and a bottle of 99% pure IPA , a guy practically has a lifetime supply of case lube.
OOPS . I think I just answered my own question. LOL

We used that stuff at work for years, it's great on dry cracked hands. Its available at most farm Co ops and TSC stores.

You nailed it ..

Yup, light mist pistol cases, and heavier mist rifle.
No stuck case, always works, easy to remove in corncob overnight, cheap, why not.
