Animal pics

Here's a couple of antelope my wife and I got last fall. Think they may be posted somewhere else too but it's all I have to show right now. I have a pile more at home to load yet so someone else put some more in so I don't feel like a hoarding show off. Most of them are still alive though. Thanks, Noel

This is my wife's very first big game animal, and 1 shot at 150 yards.

Good on her.
My wife is due to have our second little tacker in November. :D
Sadly she doesn't share your wife's interest in hunting......rather the reverse.

Bear II's conquests

I promised to post some of our southern friend's pics. So here they are. Sorry they took so long Bear II.
Here is his Missouri whitetail, scored 155. Nice work!

Here is his favorite blonde, all 480 lbs of it! This is one blonde that could really haul off and slap ya. I think he got this one in Saskatchewan or Manitoba. Congrats Carl!

Wow congrats Kombi, I'll bet you going off like a snake in a sock! (we used to have a girl working here from Australia, she taught us some of your slang!) Hope all goes well.
Thanks Noel.
This is #2 and looks like another boy, who of course will be educated in hunting and shooting.
Got to train the next generation.
BTW, I usally say "frog in a sock"........they get smelly quicker
"Snake in a sock" usually has less socially acceptable connotations.... :D

Sorry buddy, I'll keep that in mind for next time, hope you didn't find my poor attempt too offensive!

When the company I worked for installed a hay compressing machine over your way, the owner of the hay plant wanted to take our boys out whacking wallabe's,
is that very popular around your parts? If it is, I'm sure everyone would love to see some pics of those too!

Not offensive at all!!
Rather amusing actually.
I've never shot wallabies before although our Test side could do with a line-up change(Rugby Union joke...) :p
Seriously though, I shoot kangaroos on a reasoably regular basis although you need National Parks & Wildlife Dept permission(i.e. tags) to do so as they are a protected species.
I have friends who own farms and they get permission to cull a small amount of animals every 6 months.....usually they get tags for about 25 roos.
I even know a guy who was a professional roo shooter until recently.
He shot them for meat, both for pet food and human consumption.
There is a wallaby cull in Tasmania each year but as I live in NSW i've never done that.
As far as pics go, I did post a few but they've disappeared so here goes again:
These ones were shot in January off the back of a truck freehand at about 120yds while spotlighting.
The left is female and the right is male...not bad specimens and both are heart/lung shots.

This more recent, shot in March at about 110yds under the same conditions.
We couldn't even find the entry wound.
It was VERY clean.
Went down like a log.
The tan patch on the belly is actually the pouch as this one was female.

Both were taken with my 1914 ShtLE 303/25 using .25 cal Sierra GameKing 90gn HPBTs clocking around 2700fps.
I must emphasise that all of the these roos were taken using tags as it's illegal to shoot them without it and my licence is worth more than a couple of dead roos.
I must say there isn't any hunting when it comes to spotlighting roos.
It's a little too easy.
Not exactly shooting fish in a barrel but if you can aim o.k. then your sure to knock them over.
