A deer that can make snow angels. Thats what I'm talkin' about!

'08 bucks....

I managed to anchor a decent buck this year, it appears he may make the Buckmaster's book. My oldest son also bagged his first deer this year. His younger brother beat him to the punch last year and he's been hearing about it ever since (not to mention the younger lad's was a bigger buck, lol). What a great experience being able to hunt with my boys, kind of a dream come true after my father taught his sons to hunt.

I am proud of both of them, they both heart shot their deer in excess of 150 yards. Connor used a Tikka T3 chambered in .270 Win and Caellum (younger) used a Remington Model 7 youth chambered in .260. They were clean kills.

Looking forward to 2009! Here is the picture link:

Well I finally got my tika t3 in time for deer season, I waited nearly 16 months for it to come in. Thats what u get for ordering a rifle in advance! lol;)

I got this fella in Zone 10 millie pasture (SK) hunting with my father-in-law, I scored him using Boone & Crockets online calculator for Mule deer. He came in at 150 5/8" net. He's my biggest so far, not too surprising as we only get drawn for mulies every 3 years or so.

And heres a pic of the "device" I made to make it easier to field dress animals, we were hunting a good 4hrs from home so this made it easy, just 1/4 it and wrap it in a large garbage bag... all you gotta do when u get home is hang'em!

Cheers!

216 gross whitey

For those who havn't seen this already, here's a pic of the buck my dad shot this fall. He has been officially scored by a Boone and Crocket measurer at 216 gross and 208 1/4 net. Not bad for the camp cook...
