Last Shipment of Type 81 SR

Wondering if the "Sale" is on the 21 81SR's that have not had the rear stock replaced with the new modified one.

Or has the factory even address this problem yet?

Enquiring minds want to know??

Mine came with the new stock uninstalled.

You're probably correct.

Ordered mine on 19 October (got transfer notification very same day), received it today.

OUTSTANDING customer service from TI. Had a few back and forth with them via email. Same day responses.

:d

Got my transfer notification on the 16th, waiting for mine to get shipped, figured they are backed up with shipping the rifles out. Did you get a tracking # before yours was delivered? Previous purchase from TI was shipped sooner… trying to be patient lol

I emailed 2 days after the transfer notice. They provided the tracking 5 days later when it was shipped.

Help a noob

Is the NPZ scope supposed to flop laterally once on the adapter side rail?

I adjusted the screw just low enough for it to engage fully forward on the rail (so that the back notch hits the carved out guide). Once in, and locked in with the lever, the scope can seriously flop 90 degrees to the barrel. it's not tight at all. But is tight forward/back.

Bad side rail?

I doubt that very much. Side rail is torqued to the receiver flat. What else is there to do?

I've seen a few vids. It shouldn't be hard. Something's off, and I can't see it. I really doubt its the scope.

Max or others, if you have video of this "detail", please share.

Thanks.

Have you adjusted the nut on the tension lever?
If the lever rotates and locks on nice and smooth, it's likely not tight enough. If you have to fight the lever a bit to get it locked on, you've probably got the tension adjustment right.
The nut is easy to adjust with your fingers or the tool that comes with the scope. Just have to push the block that bites the rail out of the way first.

I had to adjust that nut JUST TO BE ABLE to get the scope to go full forward on the rail to seat it properly.

Once in, putting the lever in, scope flops to the right by a 1/4" (at least). I backed that lever screw back 1/16 of a turn (back and forth), and it dictates whether the scope actually slides full forward or not on the rail.

So not much play to get the scope to actually go full forward. One in, the locked in lever in position, the scope will go a full 1/4" towards the barrel if you push it sideways.

I hope I'm explaining this correctly (visually).

Oh wow.
Not that makes any difference but are you using the Heron Arms rail that came with the scope or the AK Master Mount rail that TI sells?

Yes! Herron Arms rail.

Good God, i hope I've doing this wrong: it's only lining up two slots FFS.

I was finally able to mount it properly. It was real subtle: had turn the screw back and forth in VERY, VERY small increments, just enough for it to let it slide on without forcing, but with a bit of resistance.

Hey, wanted to thank you for your input. That's exactly how it went when I got it dialed in just right. Like I said in my other post, very small adjustments had to be made where it *almost* wouldn't slide on.
