Le Baron Bankrupt ???

When you read all the posts a couple things are common, out of stock, poor customer service, and they did not modernize to the computer age. Result, out of business... period. I am surprised no one else has mentioned there first little store in Toronto which was right downtown east of Young Street, perhaps on Spadina . A small cramped hovel of a place with stuff hanging from the ceiling. I distinctly remember they where not overly friendly then either, but there prices were good. Bought my first pair of Greb Kodiak boots there and a Silva Ranger compass about 1969-70.

Here's what you all should do. Take that Le Baron's current catalogue , put it into a tightly sealed Zip Loc bag and store it away in a safe place away from light and humidity. Then 20 years from now open up a beer and look over the catalogue and the crying will begin. You will then say to yourself "I remember those days and prices".
I am sorry to hear they're going out of business. I used to go to their Montreal store on St.Lauernt St. Long ago ....that's all the good outdoor store there was.
However, they had issues such as lousy parking and closed Sundays. Their website sucks big time. But even recently I would still go to the Markham Store because it was the closest to home. Hope the employees can get employment.

They refused to get with the times. They refused to listen to their customers. They refused to listen to their employees. Once a Fail store opened close to my place I didn't even bother going to LeMorons for cleaning supplies.

I've got an old S.I.R. catalogue, before Cabala took them over. It's not only the prices that make you want to cry, buy the guns you could legally buy and shoot, before we became a much more oppressed nation.

Sad to see them go because their Markham store was the closest outdoor store to me. Always found myself running up there to pick up last minute ammo and supplies. Just checked their website and it's down...

They starting clearance. 10% off. This called close out sale.......
This store outdate until last minute. This store not kill by other factors. The true is they suicide.

Sad to see them go ! Good local store always called when on waiting list for stuff. Good luck to all the staff and thanks for the years of service !!!

They were hot and cold. Truth is, though, they didn't keep up with the times. Thing is, the more competition, the better. The only consolation for us here in Ottawa is that Cabela's is now open, so SAIL aren't the only show in town. They sold a lot more than guns, and the other stuff, I think, is what kept them alive.

Silva Baron owns LeBarons she's got it the device, her ex opened LeBaron across the street back in the day so began the fight that's how I remember it she was and probably still is the biggist jewish ##### that ever walked the earth. I used to work at the Dunn Wynn center in mississauga back in the early nineties we had a customer call her and complain about the gunshop. She called Bing ordered him to have us right out a full 2 page latter as to how we should improve our selfs and customer service and convince her not to fire the 4 of us. I loved working there.the staff where great Paul ,John ,Tim we earned our money Sylvia was very hard on her employees and even harder on her sales reps she beat them down year after year I'm surprised they were in business as long as they were her son was trying to take over the business she was such a hard-ass cold #####.

I bought stuff there over the years but never liked supporting them. Staff in the Mississauga store was downright ignorant and rude and their mail order dept was brutal!! I haven't supported them in a LONG time!!

And I thought it was just me that felt that way.
Thanks Spank for lifting my self esteem.

I just hope someone else in town (Ottawa) starts selling powder. Otherwise, I'll just let the order pile up and drive to Hawkesbury to make the trip worthwhile.

I will miss them.I bought my first hand gun( a east German Makarov)almost 30 years ago on young St. for $89

Over years I had a very good service in Markham store .Sad to see a Canadian company closing.

I also shed no tears for LeBarons. I've had a few dealings with the Markham store that left a bad taste in my mouth and so I learned to avoid them, as I imagine many people did! You reap what you sow...

Stittsville has always sold powder. I live just down the road from them, they are my go to place for "I need it right now and can't wait" reloading supplies.

I quit shopping at Lebaron around 2009. I would go there with a big list of things to buy and leave empty handed because nothing was in stock. Go to the gun counter and ask to see a rifle and the guy behind the counter would roll his eyes and sigh before going to get it (if it was in stock). How dare I ask to see a gun that I want to buy.

Sometimes there would be 10+ people waiting to be served at the gun counter while the 3 employees "working it" would be huddled all around a single customer chatting and laughing it up.

My very first post on this forum I was accused of being a shill for Lebaron because of my username lol
