I think you'd be better off retiring this one. It's had a long hard life and the blast it just had has probably stretched the action to the point where it will not headspace correctly anyway.

No4 sporters are cheap enough. Strip it for parts and run the gas axe or the zip disk through it.

Or put the bolt bits back in and spot weld them in place from inside the mag well and make a wall ornament/war story out of it.

It's not worth risking something worse happening to you, or the next guy.
 
re the ammo, i spoke to Bruce personally at Belmont ammunition & all they did was pull the 174g projectiles & replaced them with 150g projectiles, they did not change anything else.

Okay thank you. I think you're right, It's not worth an accident, I just didn't want to see an enfield not being used! (call it a fools hope).
I've seen some Nice looking wood ones on P&S guns that will be my next one.
