Too many people want to pretend they are lawyers on the internet. Manufacturer says its non-restricted, it is. If the status changes you will get a letter in the mail because you have it registered to you.

Are you offering money to pay for legal fees and such?

People are so quick to #### on such good things....

Maybe after all these years of getting f'd in the a by our gov't people can't see good things at face value.

Oh well, more for me. Restricted or not, that thing is freaking schweet and I'll defiantly be getting one.

Assuming that this interpretation stands, and is not rescinded, a number of interesting possibilities emerge. As long as the resulting firearm is not intended to be fired with one hand, similar firearms could be created from most any longarm. Basically this interpretation allows two handed "pistolization" of any shoulder arm.

Exactly why I wonder how long this loophole will be around...Pandora's box opens...

Thats what I'm wondering.
You know when the anti's catch wind they will be crying "baby eaters" again.

By the way this would all only be legal for manual action shoulder arms am I correct?.
Semi automatics are different all over again?.

Legal fees for what? Owning a registered non-restricted firearm? Don't want one then PIPE DOWN and quit spreading doubt and fear amongst gunnuters. There is absolutely nothing postive that can come from fear mongering amongst us.

It is CURRENTLY LEGAL and that is all that matters for now.

**News Flash** to all that spread fear on this project......The governments (Liberal and past Conservative governments) of Canada has been trying to ban firearms slowly over the past 20 years. Is it possible that the ruling on this may change YES is it possible that all firearms in the future will be banned YES. So you can debate it all you want, but the hell is the point.

So what's the point of attacking the legality of these shotguns amongst your own peers?

Have NO fear fellow gunuters your omnipitant governement CFC bureaucrats has declared the 870 8.5" non-restricted and issued and FRT # and reg certs to that effect. :shotgun:

I believe this is only true of the Dlask made arm since they are a manufacturer and there has been a ruling on that specific arm only...if anyone else does it in their garage they've created a prohibited weapon...of that I have little doubt.

Yea I was just refering to parts manufactured by a company to be a pistol grip, or short barrel.
I was also just commenting about how iv heard that there is a different set of rules regarding this all together for semi automatics even when they were manufactured that way.

Frankly I'd like to think of this as more of an opportunity. How many people do you know of, like bush pilots, prospectors, geologists, or biologists who give up on the Wilderness Carry permit process?

These fill the gap and provide a meaningful amount of protection to those who need it.

I'm all for the new toy on the market, and I'm the first to applaud new ways to get more good stuff, but I'd like more legal info...such as the name of the RCMP manager mentioned in the letter.

So all I ask is more info please...
Take the "###x" out of the letter with regards to the RCMP info.
If it is legal then what do you have to hide?

I guess if youare carrying it for bear defense- You aren't hunitng wiht it, so it's legal

Absofrakinlutely, if it's non-restricted.

Think of it like this - you can't hunt moose with a shotgun, but if you have a shotgun with you as well as your rifle for bear defense they won't give you trouble.

A CO will take one look at you and say 'hmmm.. is it MORE likely that he's hunting with the rifle and scope, and has the tiny hand-breaking shotgun for defense, or the other way around?"

Pretty much end of story i'd guess :D

Course - you could always pick up a dlask 12 inch barrel as well if you wanted to 'hunt' with it. Still a pretty short shottie. Shorter than that backpacker i used to have.

(funny - you always said 'why don't you just put a pistol grip on it and quit pretending'... guess i could have :D)
