Legal 8.5" 6.5" Rem 870 w/ Pistol Grip

Hey Foxer, I'm wondering how long until the Conservation officers want these for their own kit?

Well they can't have mine :D

I'm definately going to get one of those. It'd just be too damn handy.

OK folks, here is some video of me shooting the gun :D You can see there is a fair bit of recoil but it was less than my 454 Casull. The Butler Creek pistol grip did not fit my hand at all (Hence all the re-gripping) and caused a bit of pain on my thumb joint, the current production Hogue Tamer grip will be MUCH better I think.
Accuracy is much better than many would expect. I was shooting at 25, 15 and 5m and getting good clusters at each distance. At 25m three of the four shots were almost touching with the fourth (First one fired ) about 5" below - my fault.
Cheers

Very cool...doesn't look like the kick is all that bad...
Only issue is the two shot capacity, very limiting...Aguila Minishells indeed...plus I wonder if a forend strap might be an idea...

Cantom, it is 3 +1 for the 2 3/4" shells and 2 +1 for 3" . I was shoooting 2 3/4"
The COF I was shooting required me to shoot 2 - reload- 2 but the gun will hold 3 +1.

Cheers

In the video, you are shooting one in the magazine, one in the chamber?

Only 1+1 capacity?

read above.

Gatehouse,
The video is one of several stages of a particular COF which requires me to start with 2 rounds in the gun. I shoot them and reload the third via "Combat Load" and the fourth via magazine and then fire those....it simulates a situation where you have fired the gun dry and need to reload and get the gun back into action ASAP, hence the 'combat' (aka chamber) loading followed by the magazine loading.
I thought I would post some video with the gun in action rather than a static standing set of four shots in order to give an idea of how easy it is to manipulate.
Cheers

Ike, thanks for all the info. and the video. You must be working for DLASK on a sweet comision, because you are definitely selling them. I want one.

I bought mine last week from Joe when I was at his shop in the beginning of last week. :dancingbanana:

My son will be picking it up in a couple of days.:D

I can't because I am in Medicine Hat, Alberta right now and won't be home to give it a try for another month. :(

No I have no affiliation with Dlask, just a happy customer. Josef has been great to deal with and I have had great dealings.

I think these things are selling themselves, the entire short shotgun barrel approach is great.
I am working on a more detailed review including some 00 buckshot and accuracy testing.
Cheers

I just bought a couple hundred slugs and loaded just as many 00 Buck loads to use in my Dlask 14" barreled 870.

Now my son is going to probably shoot all of it off before I get there.

I better hit Wholesale Sports and load up on 3 or 4 hundred more slugs before I leave Alberta...

Thanks Ike now I'll have the 2 of you rubbing it in...

I will just have to content with shooting several thousand gophers while I'm out here to make me forget... :)

Just when I thought it all made sense.

I really dont get this. But I dont really need to understand why.

I just need to make sure I have this right.

1)This one is registered as non-restricted, for whatever reason, and he can put whatever butt he wants on it and maintain that.

2)If I put a pistol grip on my 14" HP-9, thats a no go.

Is that right???

I mean, obviously its wierd as hell, but is my understanding of those two basic statements correct?

oh, and of course... WHERE DO I GET ONE!?!?!

Hey.

That would mean this would apply to ANY firearm that was not a semi.

Y'know - i know for a fact some of the remmy pistol grips fit my 7600 pump action rifle.

I wonder if dlask could make me one of THOSE barrels :)
