Merch, details on your optics and mounts on both rifles if you don't mind? Nice stuff :D

Otokiak
Rankin Inlet, NU
CANADA

Carbine:
Aimpoint Micro H-1 mounted with LaRue high mount
Burris AR-Tripler mounted with LaRue flip to side
Top and Quad Rails are B&T

Not sure of the exact models of the mounts but they're on the LaRue website.
The Burris tripler is ok but the clarity is pretty mediocre compared to the Aimpoint or EoTech 3x Mags, that being said it is less than half the price.

Black Special
Trijicon AccuPoint TA24 rings are Weaver "48352 Black Matte Tactical"

Clarity on the TA24 is awesome but the dot is pretty small.

Newest toy - had to sell the CQB to afford it, but I think I made the right choice. :) Supressor is fake, of course. I don't think I'll be shooting it with it attached, as it's Airsoft replica... looks pretty cool though!

Swiss Arms Classic Green flattop carbine, rebarrelled to non-restricted. A B&T quad rail supports the ARMS bipod mount and Harris bipod. Currently has a Nightforce 2.5-10x24 mounted. LOOOOOOVE this gun/optic combination

You rebarreled a 17" carbine?
He put the front-end (barrel, gas system etc.) from a full-length (non-restricted) rifle onto a flattop carbine receiver. The only way to get a flattop Classic Green in Canada is in the 17" Carbine (restricted) configuration. The flattop full-length (non-restricted) available here is the Black Special. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. :D
Cheers

You can also get the "Sniper" flattop configuration with the heavy barrel and target grip and stock

Took a "sniper course" last weekend. The word "sniper" doesn't really hit it right, since not even our own snipers use the 550 anymore. In every infantry platoon there's a scope'd rifle, so "Designated Marksman Course" would be more accurate.

We shot on distances between 25m and 580m with the Swiss Army issue Swissarms 550 with the ancient army issue Kern 4 x 24 scope on top (mine was made in 1976)

the range

BTW: the range took place in western Switzerland, so the 5 rd mag-rule doesn't apply.

Kampfhamster

Those pictures are fantastic. I particularly like the berm/backer. Its too bad we dont have ranges like that.

Thanks. It's really rare that civilian's are allowed on an army range.

This place is heaven for a gunnut. 6 25m-ranges and this one huge range where you can shoot at pop up-targets from up to 600m.

Could spend entire weeks there.

Yeah, range is great, unfortunately it's a 2-3 hour drive from where I life.

No cheek rests because for some reason the Swiss Army doesn't use them and I completly forgot to bring one.

Would have been more comfortable, but we were still able to hit the targets.

One more picture from the day before the course, where we did some short range stuff.

A friend of mine tried out some gear on a 551. While the aimpoint makes sense the AFG doesnt in my opinion.
