Clabrough

I bought this JP Clabrough model 681E off the EE a few months ago. The damascus barrels needed refinishing so I sent them away. Got them back today and they make the ole girl sing!!

Okay-to keep it going , here are some pics of a couple of "lower quality" guns I recently picked up from EE members. The first is a Belgian gun, no makers name. While a lower quality gun, it is great for carrying being a light 28 gauge.
The second gun is a Tobin. What can I say; I like the Canadian firearms connection to it. I will give it some TLC this winter.

Mark, no kidding about that wood on the Elsie. You will have to post shots of it after you get done with it. Do you think you will do a complete refinish or just see if you can re-new the old finish?

I don't know why, but I really like the Pigeon grade Supers engraving style more than most of the other higher grades. Very sweet Super Oberendorf, I want one just like it except I prefer the field style forend. 30" barrels on that one ?

Tim.

Hey Mark nice. Very nice. If I were you I would lightly rub that stock with some Methyl Hydrate and then find some 3M sanding pads at 1800 grit put some Mothers Car polish on it and watch the grain on that stock just pop.

I picked up this nice old 16ga French box lock a bit ago. as near as I can tell it was made in August 1943 -- nice condition for the year. It came to me with the original horn butt plate and was a tad short so I added a Kick eez pad. The piece is right on 6 lbs and seems to be a real wand -- the test will come on pheasants next week.
It has a few bells and whistles -- hard to see in the pictures but it has about 40% fine scroll engraving on the receiver and 100% on the straps.
