My latest refinishing project. An Italian 1965 Armis San Marco Royal Special 12 gauge that I picked up from a fellow SxS enthusiast. Anson & Deeley boxlock, 27 11/16" chrome barrels choked Modified & Full, 2 3/4" chambers, 14" LOP and weighs in at 6 pounds 11 ounces.

Hi James, I think the gun is a early B grade engraving, http://www.bakercollectors.com/ Look under photos.A Grade 12 Gauge Early
“We do not guarantee that every "B" (or "A") grade gun will be engraved from just the same design, but endeavor to have about the same amount of engraving on each. On receiving an order from a customer we try to select first, one which will fill the specifications as to gauge, weight, length of barrels, drop and length of stock, and then conform to customer's ideas as to engraving , as nearly as possible from guns we may have in stock, but always consider engraving of secondary importance. You may receive a "B" (or "A") with a different design of border, or a duck or a dog in place of the two quail or a dog pointing game, we cannot tell as it is our aim to give a variety of designs.”
Hi John, hard to see the engraving in detail. Sure its much better in the flesh. I was really struck by the wood. Think that might come up really nicely in a re-finish. And it's been a long time since I had a real good look at a Paragon. I'm sure you are correct.
Although I don't have a Baker, when I think of American SxS I would like, the order is Fox, Lefever, Remington and Baker. Don't really care about the others. I don't have a Lefever yet either but those damn Continental guns keep showing up more often. A good, better grade Baker is not too common.
Not a bad looking piece of wood on that Baker. I like that "classic" North American engraving!
Very nice Baker John. What a difference from the Batavia. You certainly turn up a lot of interesting doubles!!
