Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

This 1950 Superposed 20 gauge solid rib showed up yesterday

Beautiful Springer!

Maybe acquiring my recent and most pretty gun has put me over the top, so let me ask how many other people here are driven crazy by the fact that the slot in the right hand screw in this photo isn't parallel with the lines of the rest of the gun? And that the left hand screw slightly tilts the other way?

It never used to but it has been brought to my attention enough by the hard core collectors to the point now where I notice it as well. Is the engraving as beautiful as the photo indicates?

Oh yes, I'm still taking it out of the safe every few days and gazing upon its beauty. It shoots well too.

Looking for outside endorsement of my purchase online, this is the best honest assessment of the EELL DP I've come across. Don't listen to the bad stuff.

The screws will point the right way on a premium gun... not on a 687 made in the mass production building.

I always had a soft spot for Beretta O/U, you have a nice one there bb. Congrats!

Oh well I thought it would do rough service on the deuced inconvenient days when both the Churchill Premieres and the Purdey Best guns all happen to be in their respective shops for an oiling and polish, don't chew know. :)

This came back from Conception Bay South this week. Outstanding stock refinish by CJDawe. Gun is from Desvres, France with St. Etienne proof. . Maker is Thuillier. 12 ga. with articulated forearm. Jones underlever, rebounding hammers. Thinking late '70's, early 1880's. Is a little on the heavy side at 8 lbs 12 oz. "choke bored" mod and i.c.

Man does Chris do nice work! That chequering!!!

John that's quite a collection of hammer guns you are putting together!

Can't wait to hold my Remington with it's fancy chequering pattern Chris insisted on. LOL

I have the feeling there's some information I'm missing here. Is that gun a reproduction?

I don’t think so BB.

John tends to buy the original thing, not repros from what I have seen.

And Chris Dawe does beautiful stock refinishing and excellent chequering, whether it’s brand new or re-cutting as part of a restoration/refinishing job.

Oh, and if you are referring to my comment about my Remington, just scroll back a few pages in this thread to catch up.

No, I just didn't get the reference to the re-chequering.

couple before pics and one of the locks. "G2" seems to be the serial number as its also stamped on action flat and the sling swivel. Stock was pretty tired and oil-soaked with a blow-out on the comb. Sorry image quality not great.

John, that just makes Chris' work look all the more impressive. I love seeing what gets revealed in the wood as a result of a good refinish to these old guns. I have a J & W Tolley I keep meaning to send to Chris that I think will really pop when he's through with it. But there are other projects closer to the front of the line. Including two restocks! Sadly (for my bank account) they are both sidelocks.
