May I ask how you modded the Tapco Galil lower? I think that looks outstanding!
Wow my first post!!!
Its fairly heavily modified... I ordered the part and was shocked when it showed up and I saw how large it was. The re-working was done on the fly figuring that if I messed it up it wasn't a big loss...
The grip was cut in half down the center casting line. The halfs were evenly reduced in thickness on a belt sander until together they matched the width of the front of the CZ receiver.
Short alignment pins were added to the split seam to hold it in place when re-assembled.
The profile of the re-assembled unit was cut down and shaped to interface with the front of the receiver and lower the overall height.
The upper insert was cut down and re-shaped to fit in the narrower hand guard. I left enough extra material to form new "nubs" that would fit in corresponding retaining holes that I drilled into the cut down hand guard.
The remaining front and rear mounting flanges were reshaped as necessary to fit the rear retaining cross pin/receiver and modified front retaining plate (modified with a new bezel).
The two halfs are only held together by the alignment pins and the fact that the receiver/front flange sandwich the parts together when all is stacked up.
... Clear as mud...?
I should have taken progress pic's but it was an experiment/made up as I went along and the outcome/process was never really known in advance. Overall its about 1/2"-3/4" lower and 1/4"-3/8" narrower than the stock unit.
Hopefully some pic's can convey the gist up the work... if you count the ridges in the side of the grip you can see how it has been cut down and shaped to fit.
