Let's see your C7 clones! (and C8 clones too, I guess...)

Is it going to have the M203 too?? What about the all important barrel cap for when your rifle becomes more then just a rifle it becomes a tool... like a cane or poker lol

As soon as I win the lottery it will have a M203, believe it or not they're non-restricted, just very expensive when you can find them. Barrel caps are easy enough to get, in fact I think I still have a few in my UAB.
Gotta love using a rifle as a poker! Lol

Cnclaw, I'm so jealous of that collection you have there. Couple questions (likely already answered), but are the Dlask Diemaco lowers still available, and are they stripped or assembled?
Also, the carry handle on your CQB build, what's the story behind it? I've never seen one like that before.

Question for those who know more about this than me. Why does the CF insist on using the old style rear sight assembly on the removable carry handle? Sure they work fine, but they're far from efficient or quick to adjust.

I personally have never seen a removable carry handle in the CF, it's either a fixed carry handle or a flat top upper with an Elcan or EOTech. The fixed handle uppers are only on the old C8's and C7A1's which I have only seen at the training schools. Pretty much all the fixed upper rifles have been phased out of the Reg Force battalions, but there could be some lurking in the vaults and I hear that some special ops units have a use for them.

The detach A1 handle is Diemaco marked Devtek, issued to the British Special forces. I just sold my spare on the EE. I like the look of it so on it went...nice variation in the collection.

Dlask made me the lowers to spec, Joseph can do more for anyone who wants one, I gave him all the specs. They're excellent, all to proper spec and fit nice and tight. No need to add the Accuwedge for the C7A2 clone, and infact it won't fit it so tight! Same goes for the SFW barrel, is made to exact spec and is not M4 which would have been .5"longer. Nice Walther item.

Old C8 is a rep of one a friend of mine carried overseas, it's an orriginal Diemaco A1 upper marked Devtek, was a monumental pain to fine one overseas.

CF specified the old A1 style sight for all right from the beginning, I guess was cheaper than the A2 adjustable( which many say is overkill anyway). Also, all the CF Diemaco uppers are lower than the M4's so they also use the older A1 FSB and the special stepped pins: seen in these pics.

Check the EE, there's more pics of a spare C7A2 on there...
Cheers
Iain

I guess its about time to show my C7 clone.
I've taken a Colt Sporter Target Model and added green handguards, a green grip, cadex front grip, "claw" charging handle, and a triad mount. If it had a flat top upper and a three position stock, I could make this look pretty close to the real deal. I even have an Elcan (although its calibrated for 7.62x51, still looking for a .556).
I chose to build it on a Colt because the finish and components are nearly identical and I just happened to have one laying around lol. I plan to swap ambi controls onto it shortly.

Why yes that is an Inglis High Power on my hip ; ) If your going to play soldier, its fun to have the right toys!

If that is clone, pretty FN close!

I'm sorry, it's not a clone. My bad, I should have made that more clear, seeing as how this is a thread about clones, haha!

Man, there are some really, really nice rifles you guys have, I'm jealous. I wish I had the $$ to make one, but I can barely keep my Norc up and running, nevermind building a nice representation of the work rifle.

If anyone is looking for barrel caps, Lever Arms had a pile of them the last time I checked.

eotechs are found on the c8a3 although most of the time its an elcan ,c7a2 are fitted with the c79a2 on tour ive seen guys put eotechs on there a2's but frankly i had the choice for my c8a3 as i was issued both optics but i stayed with the c79a2 because 90% of all my engagements were between 100-500m although we did do close quarter half the time its merely instinctive shooting

That's me, the cornflake on sentry during lunch, standing there with my masking tape name-tag.
