Let's see your C7 clones! (and C8 clones too, I guess...)

Some have experienced snagging on their tac vests, others love them. My opinion of these is pretty neutral but lately I've had a bought of OCD and decided my SA20 needed one of these.

It's a pretty easy installation and all you really need is a punch set, a hammer and less than five minutes of work.

If you really want to feed your OCD you will need to get a solid pivot pin.
 
Always wanted to take my old C7A1 from the early 90s home. Just finished my copy, based on an SA20. Not really a clone, as I'm not OCD enough to make it exact, but I like it. All Colt Canada except the buttstock assembly, optic, magazine, and bayonet. Close enough :)

typically the SA20 wears the KAC M5, the LMT SOPMOD and the Diemaco A1 carry handle, not a real C7 clone I know.

No it wouldn't. They came from the factory with the aluminum. Fiberlite were eventually used as replacements. I know that his barrel is Diemaco but it isn't the same contour as what the CF used.

A nice build nonetheless, like a Colt 723. It looks like no washers in the pic? Peel washers should be used.

What does the contour of the barrel look like if not like that one? From what I've read and seen it looks like it's correct.

AFAIK the CF always used a .750 FSB. The rest of the barrel was a pencil profile but with a much larger flare at the muzzle (.700 or so). Unfortunately there isn't a lot of info out there on the original C8 and I've seen a lot of misinformation being spread over the years. Lots of people think it was the same as a Colt 723. It was close but not quite. Aluminum stock and the barrel profile being the most glaring differences.

Do a search and you'll find my thread on Arfcom. If you do a search here you may find Craftsman441s thread on him taking an M4 profile and turning it down to the proper one.

ETA: search doesn't go back far enough to find Craftsmans build. I haven't seen him around here much these days either.
