Thanks for the heads-up, Donut! Took the BCG plunge, as that's not a terrible deal. $40 for shipping was a bit steep, though... oh, well.

I still am amazed by how many guys are rushing to get CC CAF Ambi Charging Handles when troops are stripping them out of their weapons the second they get their hands on them...lol

(I know it's all about authenticity) ;)

Nordic is great to deal with. I have purchased a lot of stuff from him and he has always given great service.

I would email him and ask if there is a cheaper way to send that BCG or just to recalculate the shipping as it's done automatically at time of order. I have done it in the past and he has sent me a new invoice to pay with more reasonable shipping. Not sure how it will work now as I'm sure you have already paid to get the deal but worth a try. Still a smoking deal on the BCG compared to what they have been going for.

At most of the Res units I've visited, the claw stays in. Our QM would lose their collection $hit if one of them was missing.

Yeah, I'd totally get one even though I'm not a huge fan of it.

It's a combination of OCD andthe authenticity thing, lol!
 
We're getting new latches soon to replace the disgusting garbage that we've been stuck with for the past decade. The amount of money that the CF lost in broken charging-handles and the weapons techs' time to replace or fix all of them should be astronomical by now.

I've already indicated in our forum if our shipping is out of whack we will issue a refund for the overage. We actually do that on all orders we get in. Our shipping is based on dollar value, so sometimes the small expensive boxes we post out are off a bit off in respect to shipping costs. 99.9% of the time we catch it and issue a refund direct to the credit card used for the purchase.

I must be out of my tree for doing this, but I picked up one of these "Claw" clones from hical.ca for my SA20. We have these on our C7A2s at work, but I was never a big fan of them. Some have experienced snagging on their tac vests, others love them. My opinion of these is pretty neutral but lately I've had a bought of OCD and decided my SA20 needed one of these.

It's a pretty easy installation and all you really need is a punch set, a hammer and less than five minutes of work.
