I was looking at C7/C8 marking pics on the net and came up with this C8 - interesting. No maple leaf.

That's from my website. That was a trial gun that Diemaco made for the UK special forces trials, it's different from the issue rifle both in Canada and the Netherlands.

Is the mag release a Norgon or a Diemaco?

Do any real C8's have triads, ambi charging handles and the ambit mag release? And no, I don't mean the FTHB or A series C8's - I mean the original with pencil barrel.

I would have expected an exact clone from a guy who has such exotic hardware.

The upper does have me impressed though. Wish I could find one with the Diemaco marking, let alone both Colt and Diemaco. I have seen them on some old C8s though.

Wish someone would make properly contoured C8 barrels, really about the only part of a C8 that isn't easily obtained/replicated.

I would think any HBAR .750" gas block barrel of the appropriate length could be turned to appropriate diameter.

True, although I'd rather start with a government profile barrel, only have to turn down the front portion then. Do need to get my hands on a C8 again so I can take some measurements with a caliper. Only seems to be medics and artillery who get issued them these days.

ETA: Claven2, some original C8s have had Triads and ambi parts added to them, seems to be the exception to the rule. You're aware of this though since you've obviously seen my photos.

what type of rattle can paint is used on the C8 handguards? Trying to get as close as possible in color.
