LET'S SEE YOUR WINCHESTER MODEL 21's

Boy have I ever enjoyed this thread. Might be hard on the wallet at some point. I've got a completely restored Parker 12 gauge but would love a 16 or 20 Winchester vintage sxs. I peaked on another site at the Winchester model 23's but not sure how they stack up.

One trick is to not own them all at the same time.
Win M23's are very good guns but just don't have the feel nor nostalia of the "real deal".

The Winchester Model 23 are nice guns.I have one in 28 gauge.Wish I had a 28 gauge Model 21 to go along with it.:)

Reminds me that I knew someone who was doing finances for the person in charge of selling off the warehouse guns when Winchester was clearing out its offices in Canada, would have been in the 1980s when Trudeau was clamping down on firearms for the first time, but anyway the guns were being offered to company insiders at a big discount. When he told me that, I begged the guy to go through the place and find me a Win 21! Begged him! OK, so I didn't know the gun's full history or its comparative rarity, but it was worth a chance!

I debated buying a 28ga from a retailer on the east coast for a while but ended up buying a pair of beretta a400s in 20 and 28 instead. The 21's are still listed i believe

Are you referring to the 28 ga M23? Think it is still there along with a 410. On the pricey side.

Here's a couple of photos of a pre-war M21, HD, 3" chambers I sold a couple years back. Bought it quite a few years ago but because the HD has a short LOP I never used it and it just sat in my safe so I sold it and bought couple other collectible Winchesters I can shoot.

That's a nice Duck gun, Rod. I had one too and sold it for the same reason. The 13 1/2" LOP just didn't do it for me. I had mine when we could still use lead for waterfowl. There was considerable recoil with heavy loads.

I did a quick price check on the CSMC website. A M21 in 28 ga starts at about $15k US. The CSMC version of a M21 is somewhat less. Still a considerable investment.

There has been an M21 Trap on a Canadian retailers website for the last few months, I won't mention them by name since they aren't a site sponsor ( I don't think) but the gun looks to be in good condition and is listed at $6999, is that what it's really worth or is that wishful thinking? Like I said, it's been for sale for several months but that could be more due to the small market than being over priced.
6999.95 is a fair price if the condition is 90%

If it didn't already have a recoil pad on the buttstock I would have added a solid red Winchester pad. I happened to have an original on hand at the time. Rather than add spacers and ruin the gun I sold it. I know Winchester was trying to take into account the extra clothing worn in the duck blind and as such shortened the stock on their Duck Guns to 13 1/2".

Have looked at them there myself,in the past. For myself, I cannot say that I am really interested in the CSMC version of the Model 21.

Win M21 20 Gauge

This is a M21 20 gauge skeet gun that was owned by a friend who has found it a new home. It was engraved after market by Heidi Hiptmayer. She was a highly regarded engraver who got her training in Belgium. Her husband, Claude, was an accomplished stocker, also trained in Belgium. They came to Canada in the 70's and initially worked for Browning Canada and then set up their own shop.

Heidi Marie and Klaus Hiptmayer were located in Kelowna BC in the late 70s, or so. I had the pleasure of meeting them when I lived in Vernon.
She was a very talented engraver.
