Wish I never sold my XCR-L But the wiggle in the folding buttstock and the absolutely garbage cheek piece was too much for me.. Shoulda just replaced it with a fixed butt oh well... Live an learn.

Which is what I suspect many are eventually going to observe with this chassis craze with AR stocks for bolt actions. Once the thrill is gone many are going to realize the typical Magpul buttstock is very sloppy for precision bolt action work and look for a better stock/cheek weld.

42 what is your load for those 110gr V-Max I am getting 2750 from my 22" barreled Rem 700 Light Tactical with the same bullet and 30gr H322 loaded to 2.33" OAL.

I always like to see Contenders being used fun little walk about guns.

Here is an old pic of my Contender in 223.

My longest in use coyote wolf rifle is my old tang safety Ruger M77 26" barrel in 22-250 shot this wolf at over 200 yards across the frozen Fraser River I'm 6'2" and this is just a medium size wolf.

New Christmas Present ;)
Rem 700 Sps Tactical 223, 1-10, HS Precision Stock, Seekins DBM, MDT 10 round mag, 40-x Trigger, Leupold Mark ar 4-12. Looks like its going to be a good rig for primarily wolf and the odd fox at distance.

I'm using 27.5 grains of H322...2.30 OAL. I found my groups started opening up as my powder load went up. Getting cosistent 1" groups at 200 yards, so I went for accuracy over velocity.

That's a nice setup. Been thinking about getting a Leica scope for a while now. How do you like it?

It's great quality glass, I doubt you would be disappointed. Got it wrapped and ready for an outing tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some coyotes in my next pics :-D

Looks like you may have wrapped the forend/barrel a bit tight.

I have had issues with point of aim shifting in the past when I did it that tight.

I now only wrap it loosely in that area so it has no chance of shifting POI.

I think your right, after reading your post I had another look and definitely too tight. I loosened it, but ocd kicked in and I ended up going back downstairs and re wrapping only the barrel scope and buttstock so nothing should be different to affect point of impact. This is my first experience with camo wrap. Thanks a million for the advice!

Then I am luckier than you I am getting with the 110gr V-Max an average of 7/8" 3 shot 200 yard groups with my 30gr H322 COL 2.33" @ 2786fps average velocity and I'm not even weighing each charge just powder measure dropping charges directly into the cases.

My extreme spreads are only 29.35 fps with this load.

Here is my Rem 700 Light Tactical it now has a Leupold VX111 4.5-14X40mm LR (30mm tube) side focus Varmint reticle scope on it.

Is this an older model 700 Camp Cook ? Looks great. Not seeing it on their site.

Wait, is that the LTR in a different stock ?

No newer model basically it is a matte blued version of the REMINGTON 700 LVSF (LIGHT VARMINT STAINLESS FLUTED) rifle.

It came from the factory exactly like this I understand that it was never really listed in Remington's catalog or website took me a while to even figure out that it is called a Light Tactical model.

I bought the rifle used this fall and it is definitely a newer model considering it is chambered in 6.8spc which is a fairly new round.

Other than the Timney trigger this is how it came from the factory definitely not many of these ever made its a very rare rifle/cartridge combo.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. Several years ago I handled an LVSF in .223 at a Basspro and it was a great rifle. Price at the time was really good. Saw it again a couple weeks later now on sale and still didn't move on it. Regret not purchasing it to this day.

Nice find you have there.
