Leupold (knockoffs) Customers ????

I must have been lucky third shipment from Hong Kong, No Duty/ No Tax. Just a matter of time before I get nailed on the next parcel. The ones I've purchased have been off of Ebay, two different dealers. Shipping was $18.95 each {different dealers} but 30mm rings were supplied with each scope. It pays to do your homework I guess.

I think I may just put one of these Chinese knockoff scopes on my new Chinese knockoff rifle from Marstar.

I just need a Chinese clone of a scope mount and I am good to go.

Ok GUYS.... I am so happy in my pants right now.

Just got the scope in the mail and mounted it on my 10/22..... optics are BETTER then my tasco 6-24x42AO varmit scope ($99 wholesale). the optics are bright and fill the field of view, target turrets have very audible clicks and very good feeling clicks.

Side focus knob adjusts easily as does the magnification adjustment.... I mounted it on my 10/22 with the only 30mm rings I had which are High mount Weaver rings on a Weaver base. switching that out with power custom base and luepold rings later in the week.

here are a couple of pictures, I have the back butler creek cap on but am still waiting for the front one to come in the mail..... crappy pictures, I will try and get better ones while I am at the range.

I ordered mine on Sunday and it arrived today, the M1 Illuminated version wih the big honking knobs....looks goofy on my 10/22..maybe because of the 16" BBl.....

Optics look OK though....

BDC instructions?

Just received my Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 replica - looks pretty good. Being relatively new to this, I have downloaded the "Owner's Handbook" from the Leopold website and have gone through it. They make reference to Detailed information on the use of BDC dials is available in the Bullet Drop Compensation Dial Supplemental Instructions. These instructions are not available from the Leupold website.

Can anyone provide a short tutorial?

Thanks.

the BDC is something you don;t get on the chinese knockoffs.... but on the real luepold you can change the cams on the elevation dial for a given ammunition so that the come ups will be accurate. for example click the upper turret to 100 yds and the load will be sighted in for that distance and then with the proper BDC cam in place every other yardage will be dialed in :)

realisticall though with mil dots you can just build a come up card and use the mildots as reference points for different ranges.

I don't think everyone has the same knockoff....I just took a look through E-Bay, and I found about 6 vendors selling variations of the Leupold version.....even FITCO has a copy and NC Star....and we all know what there quality is like......

OK, so what does the dial on the left side of the scope do on ? No laughter please - be gentle, I'm a noobie. :D Is it for parallax adjustment?

Note, jackyiscxd sales thread says this replica scope is:

"Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm LR/T M3 replica for sale. This scope is designed for the military and law enforcement organizations. it come with adjustable 3.5 to 10 times magnification, bullet drop compensation adjustments, parallax adjustment dial. "

Counting the features on the scope I received tells me I am missing something - either the BDC or the parallax adjustment. Not that I can really complain that "it's not the same as the real Leupold, waaah!".

Thanks Westy!

I looked on leupold's site, but I can't find where you downloaded the manual - could you post a link?

AFAIK, the knock-off's do provide a BDC, but it's a fixed one unlike the real deal, calibrated only for 168gr .308's, at 100, 200, 300 yards, etc. From what I know, it should be fairly close for some .223 loads too.

I ordered a knock off, but haven't got it yet.

On a real leupold, the side dial is for parallax/focus. I'd expect the same of the 'norin-pold's'

yup adjusts the paralax.... and frankly I am never going back to haveing to turn the whole front of the scope after using the side adjustment.... side adjustment is the cats ass :) :) :)

hello real luepold for the custom 10/22..... with side adjust paralax :)

OK listen up, the MK3 replica has a bdc set for 168 .308 as well as1 moa target turretsfor verticle and 1/2 for horizontal, and has side focus.

The MK1 replica doesn't have the bdc feature and it has finer adjusting, much larger target turrets as well as side focus.

There are 2 different scopes involved here, read the ads carefully!

Buck, thanks for the clarification. I've re-read jackyiscxd "ad" and he says it is a replica of the MK3, which comes with the features..blah...blah....blah, one of which is a BDC.

I have been informed that the BDC is built-in, and non-adjustable.

sharkson, have you got the one with or without illuminated reticle ??

the bdc is built in and non adjustable as someone pointed out, it is calibrated for 168gr .308 (I imagine federal gold medal match)..... your not missing anything ;)

talk to hungry about that... he told me once and I never remembered it, he does have the info though and if I recall said with a 20MOA base would be perfect for 1000yd (not sure if it was him or someone else)

Oops - understood. I have the non-illuminated version.

Thanks
