LION CHARGE on VIDEO!!!

It's still pretty pathedic to kill game just for the sake of claiming a kill. Would be nice to see a lion strike back and kill it's hunter. Would be well justified!

So you'd like to see dead hunters, Eh. Piss off.

Cool video BTW. I saw one from a lion hunt that the lion leaped and knocked the hunter over. I should find it.

Oh, I found it.

found a piece of the one i was talkin bout

That was insane! That one fella must have gotten mauled a bit. I assume the shots were hitting at that short range during the charge. It's incredible that large predators can endure such damage even if it's for a short period of time.

Man I love big cats! :D

For any anti-predator hunting people, it's important to understand that the revenue created from properly managed hunting, especially in Africa and places like it, is the best hope for conserving many of these amazing creatures. Once nature has a value associated with it, the people/governments want to ensure that source of wealth is preserved.

yes the shots hit, the last shot fired by the guide getting mauled, broke the lions jaw. the lion was finished off by the hunter who had injured it in the first place. the guide got injured a bit, but was back out there again in a few days i believe.

30-06 need not apply Big magnum charges are what saved a mans life such like other lion hunts gone wrong with smaller calibres. Lions are often disregarded as to their toughness to kill.

Hey troll, feel free to find somewhere else to post if you don't appreciate this. Read the forum before you click. On here, common sense does apply.
And if that lion had been hit with a 30-06 properly in the first place this scenario would not have happened.
Hunters have been killed by lions, but if it is your bit to watch something like that, I am sure there are more Goth sites for you to be touring. Define justification, and then feel free to use the word as it is properly applied.

Just curious, what is your dangerous game experience? If you consider the actions of the hunters in the video unethical, how would you have conducted the hunt differently? Or is it just that you think that hunting should be confined to prey animals? Or is it that you don't like the idea of hunting at all? I'm really interested to know what your objection is.

Boomer first off I will say 4 or 5 guys with guns going after one animal is not really my idea of fair chase hunting and as for Dangerous hunts yes I"ve had a few, ran down buy a bull moose still sport the scar in my shoulder from its antler, woke up after being knocked out, and have had a big Boar black bear charge at close range lucky to have had 12 gauge with open sights and slugs dumped him feet away. 5 against one and ganging up as in that video is not my idea of a fair hunt is all.

so, i guess my party hunt for moose is not morally suitable in your eyes?

give me a break .... stick your morals up your arse, if they will squease by your head :kickInTheNuts:

Not all of them are "hunters", some are guides, staff, guests with the hunter. Probably not uncommon to have the whole party armed for dangerous game hunting just in case something like a lion charge or when dealing with a wounded animal. Wouldn't you want your own rifle even if you weren't going along as the hunter/designated shooter? I bloody would! Also, in the last video shown, going alone isn't a great idea, or is going with only one rifle. That would have almost certainly resulted in that man dying, possibly both of them.

Read the story right ; they were trying to take care of a wounded animal. That happens sometimes when you are hunting.
Go chase a grizzly with a spear or something a little more sporting then will ya............

Cool video.

You could tell the hunt was intense and the hunters seemed on full alert.

Very dangerous game to play, and intense close quarters shooting...

The Axiom of the thrill of the hunt.:D
