Listen to Mystic

3 XR-100s, 3 Senderos, and 4 VSSFs..all would shoot under an 1" at 200.

None of these rifles have been available new from Remington in a LONG TIME.

Reality check, Remington does not make that kind of quality anymore. Still a great platform once the barrel is replaced.

mysticplayer, as an old wise man, you should invest in a cane, made out of nothing more than a Remington 700. . .
Thanks for you tips and keeping me shooting straight over the past few years.

That is why I used the word "area" and not "country". Not all of us here are retarded, no matter what your superiority complex wants you to believe, troll.

EDIT: And Finland has one 'n' after the 'i'.

It was more meant as a joke. I hate forums for that, there should be some way to express remarks. Out of all people I thought that you would be the one to actually take it, since you are the joke man.

I did spell it wrong, according to the English language but was bang on in German.

Keep it on the down low but what kind of precision shooters would we be if we didn't have a superiority complex? :p

Sorry, I guess I "jumped the gun". :D I met a man who had a beautiful 6br that he had spent thousands of dollars on. He got pissed when my neighbour out shot him with a 225 Win. The superiority complex is definately there. Again, sorry for flipping out, but I am a little on edge as of late.

It always makes me chuckle how these posts immediately become a Rem vs Savage debate.

I have owned several Rems, built a variety of accuracy rifles and had one of the nicest factory rifles EVER (Rem classic in 222 - what a gem). So I have no ill towards the brand and know exactly how these rigs shoot.... at least the old ones.

As was said, Rems of today are nothing like the Rems I played with that were 80's and 90's production. Which is a great pity but then, that can be said about so many storic companies that have fallen from grace.

If the rifle shoots well, enjoy it. Post some groups, share your story. We are supposed to be gun NUTZ's not gun SNOB's.

I have seen orig Springfield Carbine in blackpowder and orig barley corn sights shoot around 2 MOA at 700 yds. that is freakishly accurate for what it is.

I have also seen factory TIKKA's shoot back to back 3" and 4" groups at 1000m in less then ideal conditions. Someone was having a great day on the barrel machine.

I even got to score a perfect 30-3x 3ish" group dead center on the target with a 338 LM in a tactical SAKO.

Factory rifles, especially from Savage, have raised the bar on what out of the box performance can be. They still need a bunch of TLC and proper ammo but many can shoot.

1/2 min from a factory rifle isn't all that amazing anymore.

Dust off your toys and go have some fun. The group piced was not LH's best group either but we were too lasy to walk to the target in the snow.

They... aren't interchangeable?

maystic has helped ALOT of of and given many many hours of free advise, me included !! And as ihave said before, THANK YOU for all

as far as i know remignton still uses douglas and hart barrels... yeah thats on the sps too!
Mysticplayer does know what he's talking about
great shooting LH!

rem has been hammer forging their barrels for decades. Even their 5R barrels aren't cut rifled 5R match barrels.

Only their custom shop rigs might have hart and douglas or any other aftermarket barrel on them.

some special end user rigs have had match barrels ie the US Marines. I believe Obermyer supplied barrels for some of these. hart for sure.

It's the QC that is hurting Rem these days. Tikka/SAKO/Steyr also use hammer forged barrels but they are made to much higher standards.
