Took a look around and didn't find anything. Are there any LMT dealers in Canada? Or is it gonna have to be a custom order kind of thing?

If you have to go restricted AR-15 I'd go KAC at CSC or wait till you can get a H&K MR223A3. The H&K is hot and in at the moment but impossible to find because of all the government contracts taking priority.

CC at nordic marksman is worth a look.

The best way to go at the moment is the STAG 10

I currently own a MR223A3. Its 14.5 inch and weighs 10.5lb with a aimpoint PRO. I'm looking for something lighter, but also piston system. The LMT MLCPS has caught my eye so I was wondering if there was any LMT dealers in Canada.

What barrel length AR you want ?

I thought Questar was the ONLY dealer for LMT? At least that is what Gene @ LMT told me a few years back. I still have my LMT 10.5". Brand new never fired, and a perfect lower/upper fit.

Buy an LMT on Gunbroker. Engage the 3rd Party Importer of choice. Enjoy your new LMT. What's so difficult about that?!?

Right, that is possible, but if there are no dealers here, doesnt that also mean there is no product support? What if something need to be warrantied? The 3rd party importer offers help with that?

I own an LMT MWS. I highly suspect that their warranty is a mere formality that is never necessary in practical application. Isn't that the whole point of buying LMT in the first place?

I have had a mishap with my LMT MWS 308. I bought mine NIB off the EE from a reputable CGN member. It included the factory 16" CL and the 20" SS barrel. When I went to undue the barrel retention bolts to change to the 20", I had one of them snap on me. I don't know if the previous owner snugged them down or if this was just some sort of fluke. But it did snap.

So.. I contacted Questar and also LMT since I was the second owner I didn't have much confidence that Questar would help me out. I received emails back from both Questar and LMT within a few days. Both were eager to help me fix this problem. Within about four days I had a new bolt and changed the barrel without issue.

I also own a number of LMT MRP 223/5.56 versions and have changed barrels around on those rifles (I bought a 16" SS, and wanted the 5.56 with flash hider LMT barrel on another one). I've had zero issues with the barrel retention bolts or the rifles. Although I haven't put many rounds through my rifles.

I have zero concerns with LMT products. They are built tough and the company does care if you have an issue. What is their motto again? "Failure is not an option". On a side note, they and KAC work very closely together with some products being made in the same factory by the same people.

The UK and New Zealand both use the LMT MWs 308, with New Zealand now switching from the AUG to the LMT CQB for their 5.56 battle rifle. Estonia defence forces have also ordered 16,000 LMT rifles after winning their competition in 2018 against the usual top entries. In this case it seems that they were looking for a standard battle rifle in 5.56 and a DM rifle in 7.62. So it would be a pairing of the LMT CQB and LMT MRP for their military.

Some interesting events around that competition: If nothing else it shows that LMT firearms are more prevalent in military and police use than many think.

Sig Sauer contested both the decision to declare LMT's offer as meeting the requirements of the procurement as well as the decision to declare it the winning bid.

In early October, one of the competing bidders drew the attention of the ECDI to the fact that LMT may not have supplied 25,000 arms in the last five years as required in procurement documents, referring to the fact that the New Zealand Defence Force purchased 9,000 weapons from the US manufacturer.

Ingrid Mühling, head of communications at the ECDI, told BNS that in addition to the Special Air Service (SAS) special forces unit of the British Army, LMT has also supplied large amounts of arms to the US Department of Defense and the police structures of various US states. Weapons produced by LMT are likewise used by the police forces of several EU and NATO member states, including the UK, Denmark, Finland and Turkey.

"For bidders to qualify, a requirement was provided in the procurement that the weapons offered had to be part of the weaponry of at least one EU or NATO member state and the bidder must produce a list of countries where the weaponry of its national power structures — the army, police, border guard, home defence, for instance — include these weapons," Ms Mühling explained. "In addition, confirmations were required that the bidder has properly fulfilled the sales agreements of 5.56mm and 7.62mm automatic firearms in the extent of at least 25,000 weapons in the last five years."

This requirement was not connected and by law could not be connected to any one specific model of weapon; rather, this was a means by which a bidder's capability to fulfill an agreement to the desired extent could be verified. "The exact amounts of weapons sold submitted by the bidders are not public information, but we can confirm that the amount of weapons supplied by LMT to the armed forces of the US and other countries met the requirements," she added.

Contact irunguns man. They are a site sponsor. I bought a lmt bcg a long time ago from questar and had no problems but no recent dealings with them. And lmt products are solid. Buy with confidence it will last. For some reason people forget to mention lmt but they have made top shelf guns for a while now. And their gear is proven. And it might be one of the few ars you handle after the mr223a3 that won't leave you saying meh.

As for di. You can always try a cc mrr. They are pretty solid and reasonably light ars that are good quality.
